would really appreciate advice

I have had crohn's for 14 years. I have a Jpouch and deal with constant diarrhea. I cant seem to get my symtoms under control. I am on Pentasa, Flagyl, and Anusol suppositories. I cant take remicade i had a severe allergic reaction. I stayed sick on Humira. I cant take steroids due to the fact that my liver is now enlarged. I really dont know what else they can do. If anyone knows anything or anywhere I can go I would appreciate any advice

Hi Lonna, welcome!! I don't know how old you are and I don't want to suggest something you may want to avoid at all costs, but for many who don't respond to any of the traditional meds, stomas have been nothing short of miraculous to them. There is also the prospect of a future stem-cell transplant. Last year we followed Mr.Ziggy's stem cell journey and, though we haven't heard from him lately, he had outstanding results after many years of failed medical treatments. Now, we have a user, effdee, doing a blog as he goes through SC trans in the same program. Look them up and good luck!

Hi and welcome! I am so sorry to hear you haven't found treatment to get your Crohn's under control. Have you tried Cimzia? I believe it is one of the newer biologics. For more information, check out the Cimzia Club thread.

Hi, also mercaptopurine is quite effective in these situations if you can tolerate it.
