    Stem cells or cell detox?

Hello Bandesrson, sorry to hear that your situation led to crohn’s disease. I think stem cells is still work in progress for crohn’s disease and is not ready for all the patients and all the cases. Regarding the cell detox, I never heard of it, but the detox term is often use improperly to...

The decision : On Biologics or Not

I dont want to argue, but I think it’s wrong to say: “Entyvio (vedolizumab) is not effective for crohn's disease.” There are many studies proving Entyvio is effective for crohn’s disease (maybe percentage is not as high as infliximab, but that would still make wrong your conclusion), that’s why...

    Frustrated!

Xifixan is rifaximin, it can indeed help with SIBO. Prices in europe for rifaximin are definitely much much lower (less than 10€ for 12 200mg tablets). I can very much understand you frustration, i’m feeling unwell too with a lot of bloating and some episodes of diarrhea, it clearly affect my...

    Frustrated!

I guess you tried to adjust your diet for SIBO (low fodmap) and it didn’t work? Bile acid malabsorption could also lead to a lot of diarrhea and is often under diagnosed, did you check that or tried something like Questran (cholestyramine)?

    Conflicting lab results

Sometimes with crohns you just have to accept inflammation is there , even with biologics, and enjoy the best life you can though without overthinking, over reacting, as there is nothing you can really do at this stage. That’s my best conclusion after almost 25 year with it…

More bloating and gas after a resection?

Hi Entchen, thank you for your solidarity. Sad to hear it’s happening to you too. I started Questran few weeks ago, it seemed to be reducing it a little bit, but with some up and downs… I had no more diarrhea urgencies though. I read it could take weeks for bloating and gas from bile acid...

    Surgery questions and experiences

Yes it’s 5 days normally, 7 days worst case. Pain meds in hospital are on IV of course as you cant take anything orally right after the surgery. Then oral at home if needed.

    Surgery questions and experiences

Hello Maya142, Sorry to read those bad news regarding your daughter’s friend. However I can tell you a surgery for an intestinal resection is pretty « standard » for a surgeon and should be performed in laparoscopy as a first attempt. I had a similar surgery last year. The pain was quite...

My docs suggested to take a quarter of questran before lunch and dinner to avoid D. Do you have any experience with this? Does questran help for bloating and gas too?

    What would you do?

Entyvio is a good option, i’d trust your doc. More biologic treatments are coming very soon. I’m sure you won’t run out of options.
