    Been a while

I'm glad it's working for you! I had anaphylaxis from it unfortunately. 😅 Long time no see! Everything else going ok with you?

What happened to David and many of the old members?

David sold the site again a few years ago so we have another new owner. I think the constant changing of ownership along with Google changing it's algorithm to where the forum doesn't pop up first anymore had a lot to do with people taking a break and having fewer new members. I'm just an admin...

Get Rid of Student Loans (in USA)! For Those who are Disabled and Cannot Pay off Student Loan Debt

Sorry I never updated. We were never audited and after mine was complete my husband also applied and had his loans discharged years later. No audit for either.

Rectum removal surgery on Dec. 30th, feeling anxious.

Good luck with your surgery! You're going to do great and everything is going to go well. When you get a chance after lots of rest be sure to let us know how it went. You're not alone in worrying about what might happen when going under. I've had a bowel resection and have been put under...

    Mucus or blood leakage

Do you have an abscess, fistula or possibly hemorrhoids? Anal leakage of stool is possible but specifically blood or mucus might suggest a possible abscess or fistula. When was your last colonoscopy or even rectal exam? Have you had either since these symptoms started?

Does anyone know if 10mg prednisone is still immunocompromising?

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/324703#stelara This link talks about the differences between Humira and Stelara as far as how they work and what their possible side effects are. Both affect the immune system yet even if they affect it differently you can still experience an increase...

Does anyone know if 10mg prednisone is still immunocompromising?

Because many people start feeling ill while weaning off the steroid. Their symptoms tend to come back and they have a general unwell feeling. You're not on a high dose of the steroid so it wouldn't affect your immune system as much as if you were taking 60mg but it still affects it. By the sound...

Lockdown Dreams, not Aliens again !

I've been going to bed between 4-9am and feel even more isolated because of the time difference. Not that I would be able to go anywhere and hang out with anyone but everyone I talk to thinks it's weird that I'm up so late. I still have a hard time falling asleep and wake up a lot and get up...

Does anyone know if 10mg prednisone is still immunocompromising?

Both Stelara and Prednisone can lower your immune system as well as Crohn's itself. Many people become more ill when weaning off the steroid but with a possible virus I'm gonna bet it's the Stelara. You'll find out for sure if you start getting sick more often and for longer. If it's not a virus...

    Disability/Unemployment/Financial Difficulties Support Group

Definitely Tubes. Dealing with anyone from SS these days is a nightmare. They don't have one person who handles your case anymore (which was awesome back in the day) and it appears that none of the current workers even understands basic math. I haven't received any letters regarding my back pay...

Doctors with knowledge of traditional and alternative treatments

May I ask what your current symptoms are and what your last test results showed (how managed is the disease)? My current GI would be what you're looking for but I'm on the central coast in California so that might not be possible for you. However I will say that my bowel resection put me in...

That's not true Irishkelly. Since Crohn's is unpredictable and can cause extraintestinal manifestations that alone can continue your claim for disability even if you're in remission. The hard part is arguing that with someone who doesn't understand and that's how lawyers can help but it is...

Holy cow, where have I been?!

I'm glad you're doing well with your recovery. The days following your surgery were really scary for everyone receiving updates and I'm glad you pulled through. No more surgeries for you hopefully ever. You can change your name to whatever you want. I like your current name though. Makes me...

    Disability/Unemployment/Financial Difficulties Support Group

I wanted to let everyone know that I went up for review for my SSI again (they review you every two years now, not sure if that varies from state to state) and lost my disability status but I got it back without a lawyer and here's how. I got a lawyer who at the time said he would take my case...

    Crohns disease in my gum

If it's a canker sore then I usually treat it with salt. You can rinse with it or what I do is apply salt directly to it which seems to help it heal faster in my opinion. It burns but seems to work. There are over the counter products you could try as well. Crohn's can cause inflammation...

Why Don't GI Doctors Take The Role Of Diet Seriously?

Any GI I've seen have focused on diet and a little too much in my opinion. Many assume that everyone is eating garbage and don't believe their patients when they say what they actually eat. My current GI pushes organic foods and wants me to make my own kefir from scratch and if I'm not doing...

Allergic Reaction to Entyvio During 1st Infusion

Thank you. I haven't tried Stelara yet. I'll talk to my GI about it when I see him soon. Right now I'm on a low dose of 6MP with Allopurinol.

Allergic Reaction to Entyvio During 1st Infusion

This isn't meant to scare anyone away from trying this or any medication. I'm just sharing my experience so people can have an idea of what to expect in this type of situation. I believe less than five minutes had passed since they began the infusion. A nurse was trying to set up the followup...
