    Fails with other Biologics

I've been told by my GI doc that every time you change biologics, the new one is a little less effective. Has anyone had this experience, or seen any documentation that this is true???

    Exciting new vedolizumab injections!

From Scrpio: "Also, be aware that in the US if you are on Medicare or any other federally-funded insurance, if and when the drug moves from infusion to self injection it also moves from Medicare Part B coverage to Part D, which is likely to hit you with a much higher out-of-pocket co-pay."...

    Entyvio, Imodium and Me

I did mention this to my GI doc and he said if it helps that's fine. I still only take it once a week or once every 10 days. The issue, said my GI doc, ISN'T that Entyvio may not be perfect, it's that every time you change your biologic the new one is less effective (Entyvio is my second...

Thinking about Crohn's wrong has set patients back decades

I have had Crohn's for 40 years last April; it started with misdiagnosis and an emergency ileostomy. At this point all dairy, chocolate and dark liquids are my triggers. 10 years ago Humira worked for me, but it gave me terrible psoriasis. Switched to Entyvio and it works without the skin...

    Skin

I didn't have skin issues until I started Humira 9-10 years ago. Ironically when I went to a dermatologist, their first inclination was to PRESCRIBE Humira. Ha! Evidently I must react opposite of what's expected. I have since switched to Entyvio and my skin issues are much better. About GUT...

Getting Entyvio Pen in the US

Are there Entyvio pens available? I get it infused at the hospital, and boy, do they gouge the hell out of Medicare, charging more $$25 K!!

    Entyvio, Imodium and Me

I've been on Entyvio for a year and a half or more, and for the most part I'm pleased with it. I have a lot less psoriasis for one thing. But occasionally even when I'm avoiding my triggers I get diarrhea. And then it stays around. A while back I tried Imodium to stop it and it did amazingly...

    Coronavirus/Covid-19

Our pastor was traveling in the Holy Land and Italy in the last month and I'm wondering if he shouldn't voluntarily go get tested. Isn't it obvious that TRAVELERS are the ones spreading this virus?

    Entyvio and the immune system

I was on Humira for 6 years and now Entyvio for 1. My sickness levels were / are good with each med. But Humira significantly increased a psoriasis condition that wasn't much before it. That condition significantly dropped when I stopped using it.

    A Crohn's related skin question

Yes, I have had them biopsied, and was told they are psoriasis. Frankly, though they gave me a med that helps (see pic), I'm not sure how much to believe since their first recommendation was HUMIRA. Isn't it funny how it can help in one person and aggravate another? In my case there's no...

    A Crohn's related skin question

I had some skin problems before when I was on Pentasa, but they were relatively minor. Once on Humira, however they increased a lot. This makes sense, I suppose, since they say biologics compromise your immune system. The skin is the body's biggest organ, and evidently first to start to crumble...

    Anastomosis stricture

Both times I had a stricture I went to the ER uncomfortably bloated and they immediately put in a tube down to my stomach to pump me out, giving me some relief. After x-rays they called a surgeon in to consult and I resigned myself to a procedure. Instead my GI doc put me on heavy Prednisone...

    Entyvio - How Long

"Live Leaf Gut Rescue"? No offense, but I would say off exotic trendy stuff. Many times when I had to calm my gut down I did it by not consuming anything but Ensure, light colored jello and lots of water. Avoid all dairy and dark drinks. Be smart with vitamins and supplements. For me...

    Entyvio - How Long

I'm about 20 weeks into Entyvio and I was feeling so good, I decided to stop taking the probiotic I've been on for years. A couple days went by and I realized my mistake in just how I was feeling. A couple more days and I was having cramping gas and diarrhea without my triggers. Then I restarted...

    Cost

If you're on Medicare, it covers 80% and your supplement picks up the rest. I've just completed my three loading doses and now I go 8 weeks. It appears the psoriasis I was suffering with Humira might be easing. Also maybe I might be getting slightly better at dealing with an infrequent coffee...

Why Don't GI Doctors Take The Role Of Diet Seriously?

I was told 37 years ago that Crohn's was a "western disease" that was linked to our fatty diet. Since then I have heard the "Mediterranean diet" could benefit all of us. There are many diets and many theories, but none work for everybody. As of now Crohn's isn't curable, so we are on...

Colonoscopy Report - 1 year on Entyvio

I've had two doses of Entyvio and report no side effects. I'm still volunteering, shopping and cutting my big yard. My dermatologist tells me to expect improvement after moving away from Humira. Hope so. I have noticed another trigger in drinking grape Cystal Light. I got away with no problems...

    Entyvio and fatigue

Snitzer1, I've heard nightmare stories about all the medicines. They hit each of us different; by and large I've been lucky with Humira. Because the majority of reports say Entyvio is targeted with little systemic impact, I HAVE to try. I don't want psoriasis' spots, rashes and sores all over...

    Entyvio and fatigue

Snitzer1, I hope you've seen other threads with this same subject discussed. There is also an Entyvio Support group listed on the front page where its been discussed too. I'm about to switch from Humira to Entyvio so I'm interested in your post and others about it.

    Entyvio (Vedolizumab) Support Group

I'm about to switch from Humira to Entyvio because of the terrible psoriasis, sores, etc. I've developed since being on Humira (5-1/2 years). Small patches on my arms, legs and back were one thing, but now i'm getting splotches, sores and rashes on my hands and face. All along some sores...
