    Question!!!

Thanks girls!! Well Tanner had problems with his temporary ileostomy in that his skin developed a major allergy. We tried so many brands and types of bags, we even started with the hypoallergenic/sensitive skin types. The ostomy nurses were even stumped, Tanner's skin was so bad he looked...

    Question!!!

well see the thing is we have done all meds before he even had the ileostomy done in 2009. Tanner has tried them all, and if they work they don't totally help and they stop working pretty quickly. Tanner is one of those lucky Crohn's people who the doc's say is a tough case! So while trying not...

    Question!!!

This question may be silly and I have a feeling I already know the answer but..... My son had an ileostomy for a little over a year to let his colon rest. When this didn't work they removed all but 10 to 12 inches of his colon and reconnected his small intestine to that. Now the last bit of...

    Stomach flu and crohn's

stomach flu and crohn's wondering if anyone's child with Crohn's has had the stomach flu? If so does it seem to bring on a Crohn's flare? Tanner has been doing great, best he has felt in 6 yrs. Last Thursday he came down with the stomach flu, while those symptoms are better now he has some...

    Second opinion

My son is 12 and was diagnosed at age 7. We started in Louisville at Kosair but got a second opinion at Cincinnati Children's. Love our GI and that hospital, the doctors really listen to your concerns. Wouldn't take my child anywhere else.

    New Mom with 6mp concerns

Hello Jmom!!! My son Tanner has been on 6mp for quiet awhile now and we have only had one problem a bout of pancreatitis, which at the time he had a kidney stone also so he was just in pain. Parents/caretakers feelings...

I think we are totally allowed a breakdown day. It hurts to see your child suffer in so many different ways, physically, emotionally. It is stress to wonder if they are ever going to find a cure for this disease, and if not what has the meds that our children had to start taking so early in...

    Our Surgery Journey

just read this thread. Praying for your little girl and you. This reminds me so much of Tanner and me when he had his ileostomy. Tanner is 11yrs old and was diagnosed with crohn's at the age of 7. He had his ileostomy for a little over a year to see if resting his colon would help, it didn't...
