    Recently Diagnosed (In hospital)

Hi Brian: Welcome to the forum; I'm sorry you have Crohn's (and even sorrier that you are in hospital!). Yes, remission for years is possible. I love to work out and find that my body is not yet ready for long runs (half marathon distance) although it is getting closer, but I have taken up...

    Social Anxiety

Hi Janelle! I don't have a stoma so please feel free to use or lose this suggestion, but a cognitive behavioural therapist might be able to help you be out and about with less anxiety again (just 3-6 sessions work for many people, with homework in between sessions). Take good care!

Just checking in to say hi and that I'm glad you had a fab time out despite some continuing issues with the new stoma (etc.!) -- take it a day at a time!

Mental Status Changes (Accompanying Increase Dose)

Hi again: My GI's secretary is out of town and he is only taking calls in case of emergency. I can reach him by going through my family doctor, if needed, but unless an emergency comes up I will wait until around the 17th to call and ask about discussing what to do next. I am starting to...

    Asperger Syndrome

My favourite talk: The World Needs All Kinds of Minds http://www.ted.com/talks/temple_grandin_the_world_needs_all_kinds_of_minds.html (I don't quite agree with 100% of she says but the main point is lovely!)

Mental Status Changes (Accompanying Increase Dose)

Hi all: Thanks for your replies. Because I have stopped and started the medication several times now, I can say with some confidence that the memory loss and foggy sensation is most likely stemming from the medication, and my pharmacist agrees. No such problems today, for example, after...

The "rem" in remicade means remission!

Good overall, thanks for asking! Odd thing happening right now (it's in the Imuran thread) but this too shall pass. And we had a beautiful warm day today so I traipsed through our neighbourhood park on my way home from church (and an International potluck, mmm!).

Mental Status Changes (Accompanying Increase Dose)

Hi all! I haven't been on the forum in the past few days as the page is very unstable when I log on using my desktop -- flickering and the page refreshing every 1/2 second or so. How bizarre! Speaking of bizarre, I was advised this morning by my pharmacist to immediately stop 200 mg Imuran...

I feel like the worst mom ever today...

Dear kind, beautiful mom to Izzi, you are doing a fantastic job helping Izzi get used to having an NG tube; the effort that you and family are putting forth just shines through this entire thread (and other posts -- I rarely comment due to no experience with childhood Crohn's, but I do read and...

Did you have a sensitive stomach your whole life?

Always knew I was sensitive to fibre as my mom's bran muffins would do a number on my stomach. Was lactose intolerant for years (my GP said it was anxiety...ha, nope, milk), which was at the root of many of the problems, but even after figuring out the lactose intolerance and giving up milk etc...

What was your Crohn's (or Colitis) Misdiagnosed as?

And yet I was told that 20/day is "just normal for some people." I wasn't misdiagnosed -- I was sent home with a dx of "no problem!"

Bobby Vs Crohn's Disease - Body Transformation Competition

BOBBY!!!! Congratulations, both on the big win and on the big transformation - that's outstanding. I remember when you first posted about entering this contest and being so impressed that you were taking on the challenge, and now the results are...wow.

    What is "normal"?

Hey Manzyb I have little or no stomach pain most days, which is a point I wasn't ever sure I would reach. Interestingly, I am not in remission -- in fact, the Crohn's has spread to a new location. But Imuran seems to be keeping the pain mostly at bay. What lingers is fatigue. It's improved...
