    Labyrinthitis

Hi again Cat. Actually, I had the labyrinthitis attack started in the January. The Crohn's symptoms came later in the August of that year, a few months after the dizziness had subsided so I wasn't on any medication at all.

    Labyrinthitis

Oh Cat, you poor thing. It's awful. I stopped smoking just after New Year 2010 and 3 weeks later got a horrendous flu which gave me a really sore throat and ears. One night I woke in the middle of the night and thought I was on a ferry! It took until May to feel totally free of the the symptoms...

Whats the Slowest prednisone taper you've done?

Hi Apollo No you are not imagining things. Pred tapers are known to be horrible. I was on 30mg for 6 months when I was first diagnosed and eventually told to taper 5mg every two weeks. I can sympathise with the irritability. I also experienced really bad joint pain and felt exhausted all the...

    Newly diagnosed-now abscess and fistula

Ah, poor boy...and poor you. Yes, the waiting is awful isn't it? Is he is in pain/bloated from not having a BM? The only thing I can suggest really to help things move along is drinking plenty of water - and maybe hot water which can be quite soothing.

    Newly diagnosed-now abscess and fistula

Hi kernelmom3 and a big warm welcome to the forum. I am so sorry to hear about the issues that your son has been having. The two of you must be reeling. To answer some of your questions, several people on the forum have had fistulas heal on Remicade. I will be honest with you though, it has a...

Yes, result :-) :-) I sure hope the Remicade does the trick. Hang in there, girl x

Curious - Restless leg syndrome as a symptom of Crohn's

I started to get it with the onset of Crohn's and it persisted into remission. But I recently started taking Magnesium as advised by folks on here for migraine/aura and it seems to have helped with the jumpy legs too :-)

    Life's ups and downs

Haven't been around the forum for a few weeks. I was fairly stressed out at the beginning of my two weeks off, but had lovely second week. My brother, one of his daughters and a friend came up. First time he has been to the island and we had a great time. HE left on the Monday and I went back to...

    possible bladder fistula

Hey, how are you doing? Did you get results of the MRI?

    possible bladder fistula

From what Dusty told me from her experiences and from what I've read, internal fistulae are notoriously difficult to heal with meds, and that's what happened in my case. I would get some relief from antibiotics, but the symptoms would come back when I stopped them. Are you still dealing with the...

    possible bladder fistula

Yes, Sailor, the bubbly urine is the caused by air passing from your bowel into your bladder. My local GI said he could see that on a CT scan I had, along with an abscess. When it and the fistula didn't heal on Pred and Aza, he referred me to hospital on the mainland for surgery. When I finally...

    possible bladder fistula

I had constant UTIs too, or at least the symptoms of them. Sometimes I'd test positive for infection and sometimes not. Other signs of a fistula are passing air when you pee, bubbly urine and eventually I was passing small amounts of stool when I peed. Yes, I think it's the same type of deal as...

    possible bladder fistula

Oh dear :-( Have you had a CT or MRI to establish if there is air in your bladder? I was prescribed Infliximab to try and heal a bladder fistula and persistant inflammation in the TI. I did get a lot of relief from that and they thought I'd gone into remission, so stopped the Infliximab after...

Searching for a good hospital in the UK

Hi Badr and merhaba :-) I spent 12 years in the Emirates - I miss the sunshine. You might find this site useful - I think they have information on hospitals in the UK - NACC. Hope you find somewhere soon.

Future resection, I cant stop crying newly divorced and alone

Hi cleuger I am so sorry to hear that you are needing surgery and that you are feeling low. I am divorced too and live with my teenage son. Also working full time. I was very sick for two years with an intestinal abscess and fistula and like you, felt overwhelmed and desolate at times. I didn't...

    Magnesium deficiency symptoms.

The ones I'm having at the moment are mild, Dan, compared to ones I've had in the past. I used to get classic migraines - not that often, but the aura, vomiting, horrendous headache and the only thing to help was going to lie down in a darkened room and sleep it off. The ones I'm having now are...

    Magnesium deficiency symptoms.

Thanks Dan, that's really useful. I'd started having daily migraines and some on another thread suggested Magnesium. Reading this, I have several of the other symptoms too so Magnesium might just do the trick.

    Decisions, decisions......

Thanks Cat, that is very good food for thought and something I could look into. Interesting about Japan. I wonder if their diet is one of the reasons they have so few cases of IBD?

Yes. Have you been diagnosed with one?
