Searching for a good hospital in the UK

Hello, hope everyone's doing well.
Sorry if this is not the right section for this thread, if not feel free to fix it

I am from Dubai, I have had Crohns for 5 years now, fistulating crohns to be specific.. I did abscess draining and seton attachment surgery 2 years ago with no luck..
So now my surgeon here suggested a "Diverting Loop Ileostomy" for 6 months + Anti-TNF treatment.

So I decided doing it in the UK for better results and some other reasons of mine.. but i don't know the best hospital or clinic that is really dedicated for these kind of surgeries crohns and fistulas..

I have contacted http://www.birminghambowelclinic.co.uk/ waiting for response.

I will be staying in London any website links to Crohns health care centers there, you know are good or you have experienced them would make me very grateful. :smile:

You may not have had a response yet as it is the school holidays in the uk plus the post was made in working hours. I have only just seen this now so others may see this soon.
I can't suggest anywhere to you unfortunatley as I don't know how it all works with people from over seas. Are you going private whilst here?

Hi there..

Are you seeking private treatment or nhs? If it's nhs then you might not get anywhere, since coming over just for treatment is something that the nhs is trying to stamp out, our health care system is seriously over stretched trying to look after the people that are already here, so they might not accept you if you are here purely for treatment, unless it becomes an emergency.

If you are going private then I would guess that London is the place to start, but I honestly couldn't tell you specific hospitals as I've never looked into private health care. Unless you can pay upfront you will need insurance though.

I go to St Marks Hospital which is the leading bowel hospital in the UK. They do private as well as NHS. My surgeon is wonderful, Professor Phillips. I would not have anyone else operate on me:

Hi Badr and merhaba I spent 12 years in the Emirates - I miss the sunshine. You might find this site useful - I think they have information on hospitals in the UK - NACC.
Hope you find somewhere soon.
