I've never been "normal" since my diagnosis; even pre-ileostomy. My be worth a discussion with your GI. My guess is that it also depends on the location of your disease. I had large and small intestine involvement.

Mine have changed. I love raw veggies but they hate me! They often cause bloating, pain, and sometimes obstructions. I also stay away from popcorn (same reason).

The only thing I can think of is walking. But if you cannot drink fluids you will need to go to the hospital to be checked out. Dehydration is something you need to watch out for.

Is your stomach hard? Is the pain coming in waves? Have you had an obstruction before? I personally would play it safe and call the doctor. If you can't drink you need to be checked out. It doesn't take long to get dehydrated.

What you're feeling is totally understandable. It can take time for the meds to start working. It's also important to give yourself time to adjust psychologically. It's a process. Be kind to yourself. Don't worry if it takes months. You will adjust and move on with life. Hope you feel better...
