    So Proud of son!

Ditto.... I love stories like this especially when all the media shows are young people causing trouble and not caring about others. Good luck to all of them and huge respect :ghug:

    Spouses

Hello I found that stress really aggravated my Crohns. I was lucky to get some therapy and I found this really helpful. My therapist introduced me to mindfulness (http://www.freemindfulness.org/download) and I have found that taking 10-15 mins a day just to relax, breathe and listen to some...

    Who's the best? (U.k)

Hi The guy that did my bowel perf last year was Mr B Box at North Tyneside Hospital. Apparently he is very well thought of in the UK for laparoscopic surgery and trains other surgeons in this area. I found him very supportive and very amenable to answer all my questions especially as it was an...

Quitting smoking will help even the moderate smoker

Hi I was forced to give up last July when I was in hospital for 10 days with a bowel perf. When I came out I started to use the electronic ciggies (which I think are great) and still use now occasionally. I think they have really helped me to not go back to 15 a day. I never wanted to give up...

Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender & Straight Allies Support Group

Hey NGNG I think you have to go with your guts (sorry bad joke here) but see how you feel when you actually meet up. I know gay friends of mine that still worried about telling certain people years after they came out. I'm sure that your history together will help you decide whether to tell...

    Azathioprine - Itching all over!

Hi Blue Totally agree with Nitty, Kevin & David - they know their stuff - so worth getting checked out. Now I think about it, I had to stop taking Aza due to liver problems and my itchiness was worse around that time and for a few weeks after stopping. Hope you get to see your doctor and get it...

For the girls - Azathioprine causing painful periods?

Hi Nitty I'm with you on the pre-menopause thing. I am starting to think there is a real link between Crohns and hormones. Good luck with your various appointments and please let us know how you get on. 😎

Worried that the 6mp is no longer

Hello Sorry to hear that you have been feeling rough. Glad that your hubby is looking after you (what would we do without them?). Great idea about listing all your symptoms and showing your gastro. It may be worth getting your various vit D, B12, iron, magnesium, zinc & folate checked. I've...

    Azathioprine - Itching all over!

Hello Blue Not sure if it is directly related to the meds but itchiness is a symptom of Crohns. Have you started using any different soaps, washing powders, access to pets? If it gets too bad, it is worth mentioning it to your doctor as they may be able to give you something to help. Nice to see...

For the girls - Azathioprine causing painful periods?

Hi Nitty I was only on Aza for a short time and don't notice any difference. However, I would say that my Crohn's s always worse just before & during my period. It is definitely worth mentioning to your doctor and if it gets really bad ask for a gynae referral. Take care 😎

    Worried and alone

Hi Amy I am so sorry that you are going through this but please only do what you feel comfortable doing. You are probably right to try and avoid all meds and give your body a rest - but please do not suffer pain. Have a good rest today and try to chill out and look after yourself. Take care and...

    Worried and alone

Hi Amy Have you got a friend or family that could come over? I am sure that your stress is not helping your situation. Have you taken any pain killers? Probably a good idea to avoid aspirin and ibuprofen as these can aggravate your tummy. If you are taking painkillers and they are not helping...

    Anyone on LDN and imuran?

Oh Josh.... Going down to 75 might be a good idea. I know how you feel about the headaches - I lasted 4 days with no sleep and eventually ended up in the ER and as soon as I stopped taking the med, they stopped. I forgot about the diet you were on - does that also rule out ginger tea? I'm...
