    Biologics and stoma question

I have a question for those with Illeostomy. I have a huge rectovaginal fistula, and dr wants to do temp stoma and then surgery. But he said his preference is for me to be off remicade before the stoma operation? I've never heard this before? Is that standard? And what good would stoma and...

    Fed Up

I hear you about the tests. Had an allergic reaction to an MRI this morning and a surgeon sticking his fingers up both my holes today. I feel your pain. Tests suck!!

    Happy freakin new year

Had an MRI at mayo today. Of course I'm allergic to the contrast. Of course. To go with my very large (1-1 1/2 cm) fistula hole. Am I ever gonna get a break here?

The Real Cause of Inflammation/Ulcers In Crohn’s Guts? (SHOCKING)

While it's a good theory for some, I don't think you can make a blanket statement that all crohns people have weak immune systems from sugar acid. Both my dad and I have crohns, and we are (other than crohns) the healthiest people I know. Never get sick and have never had dental problems. Even...

    Mayo Clinic

So I saw the urogynecologist today. I'm having an MRI in the morning, have a consult with gi and colorectal surgeon tomorrow, and possibly an internal medicine appointment as well. They do work fast here. Especially if you're coming from out of town.

    Happy freakin new year

Have an appointment at mayo next week! Yay! Trying to be optimistic. Course my poor little baby boy is sick. Think he's got the dreaded tummy bug that's been going around. Luckily he hasn't eaten much today so the throw up was minimal. Just praying, praying I don't get it. If there's one thing...

    Help with recto vaginal fistula

So I have an appointment with mayo next week. Its with urogynecology/surgical gynecology. The dr's clinical interests include fistulas, so at the very least it's probably a good place to start. I also have an appointment there with internal medicine in February to figure out what the heck else...

Wow. You should seriously consider reporting him. To who, I don't know. But someone. I certainly would have had some choice words for him. And they aren't printable here!

Help! Mouth ulcers, extreme fatigue. Time for a new GI?????

I used to get horrible mouth sores. Remicade and topical steroid have helped. Prior to that I found some things that helped. Get rid of any toothpaste or mouthwash with sls, sodium laurel sulfate. Try taking l-lysine and zinc. Those things helped me the most. Also, a mouthrinse through...

    A weird funny?

For those of you that don't know, I had a labial? Fistula, had a flap procedure 2 1/2 weeks ago which did not take and actually turned my fistula into a horribly huge vaginal one. Anyhow, I'm looking around down there, and it looks like there is a string imbedded in my perianal area. I had been...

I need advice! temp ileostomy to heal fistula

unfortunately i live in a small town where the doctors aren't very good. i like my GI, but he isn't the most knowledgable, but at least he knows it, and isn't afraid to say so. lol. my surgery was done 5 hours away. i'm a little concerned because the surgeon is already talking about cutting...

I need advice! temp ileostomy to heal fistula

i guess i could go ahead and get the ostomy and then just have them hold off on the other surgery to see if they would heal up on their own.

    Help with recto vaginal fistula

i think i'm gonna get a second opinion. i'm also getting referred to a rheumatologist. i have a lot of things going on that aren't crohn's related. i've also never had a positive biopsy and none of my intestines are inflamed.
