    Severe Crohn's Episode

Sorry to hear you are going through all of this. My GI told me that diet has nothing to do with Crohn's...in other words it does not cause or cure it. Yes some diets can reduce symptoms and some foods can aggravate symptoms, but it is different for everyone. Please stay close to the instructions...

    Terrible day so far

Didn't really eat a whole lot yesterday. Got up this morning to try to go to work, but ended up calling out. Been trying to eat a piece of toast for 45 min. Still have diarrhea, no vomiting but nauseous when I walk around. I almost think something I ate started all of this...possibly food...

    Terrible day so far

No fever. Seems I get really hot right before I need to vomit. That has finally stopped, thereafter be anything left. Still have diarrhea. Trying to keep myself hydrated. Just feel very weak and my body aches pretty bad. Scared to eat because I don't want to start throwing up again.

Crohns and a broken heart please help.

He might be dealing with depression as well. I had a really hard time in the beginning with accepting the disease. I felt like a burden to my husband. Give him space, if it's meant to be you will connect again. If not, it wasn't. Maybe it was an excuse for him to let go of the relationship...

Has Crohn's forced you to change careers

I feel the same way with my current job...I push through at work but then come home and have no energy left, plus my entire body is sore as well. Contemplating quitting, but scared to because of needing health insurance (and the money to pay for it). Sorry BigBoss that I don't have any advice...

PPO to Kaiser - Should I Change?

I have Kaiser and love it! Never had an issue, billing is easy. Coverage can vary. For me lab tests are free and office visits $25, but all that depends on what plan you pay for. What is nice is if I see my regular Dr then go see my GI they each can look up tests the other one ordered...

    Crohns and Organ donation

I haven't thought about this, I too am a donor. Didn't even think the disease would effect anything other than the colon. My grandmother passed and had multiple health issues. They were still able to use her eyes for donation. Every little bit can help someone else in need.

What are your flare symptoms? Soothing methods?

Diarrhea, pain after eating, pain in lower abdomen, sometimes nausea, exhaustion. I usually go to a liquid diet or to a bland diet I can tolerate. Hot baths seem to help soothe my guts. I tend to sleep a lot more when flaring. I also call my GI to get a stronger med right away as well and he...

Medi-cal a bad choice, or better to get a ppo?

I am sorry I can't help you. I have had Kaiser almost my whole life. I love how easy the billing and everything is. Good luck, I may be looking for insurance next year as well. Let us know what you decide to go with and how it works out.

    Weird breakouts on skin

There are many functions in the body that are controlled or influenced by hormones in men and women. Stress, fatigue, poor diet and lack of exercise could all affect hormone balance. If you don't already, I would try to make sure you drink enough water, get enough sleep and watch stress levels...

    Weird breakouts on skin

I think it could be triggered by medication. Also I have found dehydration, stress and hormonal issues to spark acne for me. I get pimples that don't really come to a head, but are painful and take FOREVER to go away.

Do you stick to a certain diet habits ?

I am in remission so I truly can eat almost anything, but I still try to stay away from processed foods, too many sweets or junk food, and gluten.
