    The dreaded colonoscopy

Duc duc duc duc-o-lax lax lax duc-o-lax lax lax duc-o-lax. I somehow acquired chug-a-lug talents in college (different kind of liquid, mind you). Open wide and down the hatch it goes. No time to gag.

Low in iron and don't want to take iron pills

Also, there is Floradix, which is a herbal/iron supplement in liquid form. Haven't tried it myself, but a lady I work with swears by it. http://www.florahealth.com/flora/home/Canada/Products/R4771.htm

    Occipital Neuralgia

Yeah, I've been doing the ice/heat packs all week, plus using my portable TENS unit. Have gotten some mobility back and the swelling/headache is gone.

    Yoga for crohns disease

I've had an ongoing struggle with yoga. One school kicked me out but not before berating and ridiculing me in front of the rest of the class for failure to keep up. It was humiliating. I did not know that yoga was a competitive sport. I felt like junior high gym class. I was fully refunded for...

    Occipital Neuralgia

It's also called Arnold's Neuralgia. I just hope it doesn't lead to me tilting my head to one side, sticking my bottom lip out and stating "whatchoo talkin' about Willis?" :ylol:

    What can i eat

Personally, I'd be a bit suspicious of "cures" marketed over the internet. There's no such thing as an universal panacea for Crohn's. No two sufferers are alike. Have you looked into liquid nutritional meal replacements such as Ensure or Boost? Key is to take it all in moderation. Bananas...

Yes, another Crohn's Newbie Story and Questions (Slightly long winded post, sorry!)

I have to echo what Dexky says. Anyone with your symptoms and a family history of Crohn's should have been fully checked out. Unacceptable.

    Occipital Neuralgia

******* Vice President at work decided last week that all workstations should have the CPUs under the desk instead of on top because "it looks less cluttered." Cables are only so long, which means monitors are pushed back a foot and a half. I have to lean forward to read what's on my monitor...

Hey superbloop! I've met several folks of East-Indian heritage with Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis. It's an equal opportunity disease, unfortunately. Glad you've found us. If you have any questions, fire away.

    Occipital Neuralgia

Basically, it feels like someone has taken a baseball bat to the back of my neck and is now holding me in a headlock. The epicenter of the pain is in the C5 and C6 vertebrae (base of my neck) pressing on the nerve, radiating upwards into the rear right of my skull and between the eyes, and...

Low in iron and don't want to take iron pills

What kind of iron supplements are being recommended? There's three types (in descending order of "harshness"): Ferrous Suphate, Ferrous Fumarate, and Ferrous Gluconate. I'm doing fabulously well on two 300 mg tablets of Ferrous Gluconate per day. It gives me dark stool, but it has nipped my...
