    Weekly Humira

I'm on weekly humira for UC. After taking humira every 2 weeks and still having symptoms (mainly diarrhea and urgency) my GI switched me to weekly. He did run a few test to check my fecal calprotectin and humira levels. My humira levels were well above therapeutic (@24) but my fecal calprotectin...

    Humira mental side effects

I too am on humira...going on 4 months. I have also gone through periods of anxiety and depression but I attribute these to my UC and how the disease has changed my life forever. I highly encourage you to talk to your doctor and let them know how you're feeling. They can prescribe you...

Should I hold on a bit longer?

Thank you both for your suggestion. I will bring this up to my GI. He definitely wants to give the weekly humira another month before we try other options. Crohnsinct best wishes to your daughter.

Should I hold on a bit longer?

So I have been on humira for 14.5 weeks now and I feel awful at the moment. The best I felt was shortly after the loading doses and then slowly got worse. I was given a prednisone taper last month (20mg to 2.5mg), tapering every 10 days 5mg. I had some relief, not perfect, but once I got down to...

Mesalamine~ New and something seems wrong

If the medication is working, your diarrhea and cramps should go away. How fast that happens can vary from individual and the severity of their disease. I for one, never fully responded on mesalamine (Apriso) and prednisone alone during my initial diagnosis. I was on this for 4 weeks...saw...

Mesalamine~ New and something seems wrong

Sorry to hear this is happening to you. Maybe you are allergic to mesalamine? I've heard some people can be. Either way, your GI should listen to your concerns and try to find another medication that can work for you.

    High Humira levels but flaring

Just wanted to give a quick update in case anyone else goes through something similar. I got my lab work back and the good news is that I don't have C.Diff or any other virus or infection. On the other hand my Fecal Calprotectin levels are still high (595) but have gone done significantly...

    High Humira levels but flaring

I have not tried formula...I assumed this was only for kids. I do drink a banana smoothie everyday with some oat milk and peanut butter. I'll make sure to bring this up to my GI. I'm frustrated with my clothes fitting so big and looking like a skeleton.

    High Humira levels but flaring

Thanks for your feedback MLP. I figured 10 weeks was still to early to gage effectiveness. I was surprised to hear my GI talking about switching to Entyvio. Maybe he feels this way since I responded 3-4 weeks in and now going backwards? Anyway...I'm back to prednisone which has never done...

    High Humira levels but flaring

Thank you so much for educating me on the subject; very informative. I was told that my labs show no antibodies to the humira. I guess I'll have to wait and see what my new lab work show.

    High Humira levels but flaring

Has anyone experienced a UC flare but have high humira levels (25.38)? I've been on humira for almost 10 weeks now and for the last two weeks my symptoms have gotten worst (urgency, cramps and diarrhea). Coincidentally around the same time I switched from Apriso to generic mesalamine; not sure...

    Apriso vs. Generic mesalamine

So I called my GI and she mentioned this is common and has happened to some of her other patients. She has given me a new script and some samples to hold me over until the pharmacy fills my Apriso prescription. She told me to call her in a week if my symptoms don't improve. She'll then have to...

    Apriso vs. Generic mesalamine

So I have been talking Apriso (4- .375 capsules/day) along with my bi-weekly humira the past 2 months. It was slowly improving my flare symptoms. Last week I began taking generic mesalamine (not sure why my GI changed my script) and ever since I felt my flare come back worst. I haven't changed...

    Coronavirus/Covid-19

I can't denied I'm a bit concern...I've just started taking humira 8 weeks ago. I live in south Texas and yesterday I read about several confirmed cases of Corona virus in the San Antonio area which is 4 hours away. I guess at this point we just have to be vigilant and practice good hygiene.

    Side effects of Humira?

Hi guys! How has humira worked out for you so far? I started humira about 6.5 weeks ago on January 10th. I've had some improvement since week 4 (solid BMs) but this week I'm back with the diarrhea. I'm guessing it's something I ate but who knows. I'm taking comfort in the fact that you...

    Can humira cause acne?

Thanks for the info MLP. I started using acne products I have at home and it seems to be clearing up.

    Can humira cause acne?

So I have been on humira 6 weeks exactly (today I inject my second maintenance dose) and I have began to notice some acne in my face along my jaw and hairline close to my ears. I normally don't break out this much (I'm 32) and I didn't have this much acne months ago. In fact I had perfectly...
