    Weekly Humira

Saw my GI this evening after work as the abcess on my ass is back plus I have lost 3 kg (6 pounds/half a stone - I think) due to diarhoea caused by Flagyl & Ciprofloxacin which were initially prescribed for the abcess. He prescribed another course of Cipro plus pro-biotcs and Forceval to help me...

    Breakfast

Porridge with a generous drizzle of honey to sweeten is my baby most mornings . It keeps me going till lunch time. Also white toast with smooth peanut butter. Weekends I really go to town! 2 boiled eggs, toast, various cheeses.

Weight Gain on a Low Income

I'm desperate to get back to my normal weight of 62 kg. Last year I went down to 42 kg and post surgery am now at around 55 - 56 kg. I don't have too far to go yet it seems impossible. The weight just does not go on. Any ideas how I can get a bit chunkier on a really crappy income? Thanks...

    Feeling very very low

Hi Kimmy....It does get better eventually. As Amy said you will learn (along with your GI) to get the Crohn's under control. Steroids are a bitch. I was on them for 3 years before surgery.....but there are other options which you should discuss with your doctor. Don't be afraid to ask him a...

    Coffee drinkers?

Love coffee. I mostly drink tea now but I have one cup of coffee every day at lunch time. Usually filter coffee or capuccino. Sometimes it bothers me and other times not.

Sudocrem - worth its weight in gold!!

I'm a sudocream superfan and have used it for years. I use it for its antiseptic properties and it does the trick. The only bitch is it tends to stain my underwear.

    Bum issues

Definitely contact your doctor. Maroon colored blood in the stools indicates that the problem is further up in the bowel. Any pain is not a good sign so please don't delay. Let us knw how you get on.

Does everyone have diarrhea with crohn's?

I've mostly had diarrhea throughout my Chron's journey but do recall on very few occasions of being constipated. The feeling of being blocked up is treacherous; at least with diarrhoea there is an element of relief.

If you had a chance would you chose a no crohns life?

Would I prefer a non-crohn's life? In an instant. I have had Crohn's since 1998 without any major symptoms until a few years ago. The last 4 years have been an absolute nightmare. I can honestly say that if I was to go through again what I have already been through then I would simply give...

Restless Legs?? Anyone else - driving me nuts!

My GI sent me to a neurologist who ruled out anything "serious." She told me it was probably linked to a deficiency in potassium plus my iron levels were at an all time low at the time. I didn't take (and wasn't prescribed) any meds for it but suffered through it. As I became stronger and...

Before & After - Not for the Faint Hearted (You have been warned)

Thanks Amy. Must be the gallons of Clnique moisturizer I pile on every day. Actually, I was also trying out these new daily colored contact lenses.....I lasted one week!!! Ekay03, my scars have mostly faded in just over a year. You wouldn't be able to tell I even had surgery. Keep well...
