    Surgery Weds...

Hiya Sophie I've always been told it's because then your bed is secured, it's yours, so no-one can pinch it! Meaning, even if there's an emergency. Good luck and let us know all about it, it's something that my gastro team have planned for me, one day! xxx

Hiya Jesse JDTM I'm back on the Buds too and this time I'm gonna stick to the 'proper' dosage, 9mg at one month, 6mg at one month, 3mg at one month. Newly diagnosed, frustrated and refusing meds

Hiya Sarah and welcome I refused my meds too, and I nearly died from an infection and peritonitis. I won't go into the long story, just the facts. Crohn's is inflammation, this causes scar tissue, this causes narrowing, this causes obstruction. Don't be complacent, this disease is silent, and...

    My story and Advice Needed

Hiya matthew This pain could be a stricture, these are caused by either inflammation or scar tissue built up over time. When inflammation hits, the stricture narrows, and can cause an obstruction. The pain is excruciatingly unbelievable! The pain throbs, ebbs and flows, to a crescendo! It...

    Explaining perianal disease to friends/colleagues

Hiya Hannah I say 'I've got Crohn's, Google it!' When peeps say 'You look so well tho', or 'should you be eating that?' I say... 'I'm sorry, but you've mistaken me for someone who gives a ****!' Hannah don't justify yourself to anyone, if they're bothered, they educate themselves, and...

Depression/Lack of Motivation, or Just Laziness?

Hiya ktp112 I'm so sorry you're going through this without any support from your parents. As a parent myself I couldn't stand by and watch my kids suffer like this. You need to stand up for yourself, at 21 you're an adult, ok you live with them, their rules etc etc ... but you have to be your...

    Help for best treatment

Hiya Joney and welcome I agree with Lizbeth, we are all unique, what works for one might not for another. I'm on Humira, and I only chose this option over Remicade cos it's more convienient, I don't relish the idea of being infused for a few hours, plus it will interfere with work. Humira was...

    Just saying hello

We don't half knock the NHS but our drugs only cost £7.20 a pop! It's only a contribution, we do pay National Insurance with our salary tho.

    A year of confusion!

Hiya Kismet and welcome You could try some digestive enzymes for the bloating, available at any health shop or Boots. Regarding your diagnosis, I'm afraid the specialist in IBD will have to confirm this, with the best will in the world a GP isn't a specialist, and I for one wouldn't take it...

    Tapering Entocort: issues? increased symptoms?

Hiya Traumanurse That's a long time on Entocort? I can only say from my own personal experience on this med (I'm on it now) Here in the UK we only do 3 monthly stints on Entocort = 1 month at 9mg, a month at 6mg, a month at 3mg, that's it. I'm also on Humira, 5 months now, but it took a good 3...
