    Caffeine suppresses TNF-alpha production

Very interesting. I've always had coffee in the back of my mind as an underlying culprit to my issues. Curious what others think.

Exercise causing me to flare-like symptoms...help!

Hi @NeverBeenEasier - thanks for the update. My exercise is very limited. It's mild walking (couple miles) and mild weights. I don't have severe Crohn's that I'm aware but whatever I do have, when I exercise - I get a lot of inflammation in the sinuses and feel like I'm getting a head cold...

Exercise causing me to flare-like symptoms...help!

Exercise seems to make my symptoms worst. Immediately after exercise, I get sinus congestion and cold like symptoms. My Crohn's seems to be in the small intestine and I've had these symptoms for over a decade. When I do not exercise, my symptoms seem contained. My experience seems rare and...

    Antifungals and Crohn's

Hi @kiny; I've noticed I've experienced sudden improvements in my Crohn's during times I took a parasite cleanse and/or taken antifungal. Do you think it's food related causing this fungal response? I don't know much about Crohn's. I just know what tends to make me feel better and doesn't.

    Antifungals and Crohn's

My doctor says I "likely have mild Crohn's, but can not prove it". But, I've taken Diflucan (antifungal) and I have also done a natural antifungals and have felt better after. Although, this has not been 100% of the time. Just my $0.02.

2 Nurse Dietician's telling me that I can have alcohol & coffee in moderation

I was recently, "tentatively" diagnosed with Crohn's in August of 2021. I've had odd symptoms for a decade. So, since then, I've cut back on any beer greatly as I'm learning about the cause it can have on my gut. Joys of life!

Thinking about Crohn's wrong has set patients back decades

Wow - I am reading up on these. That link looks very interesting. I was aware that Paleo's diet was helpful (due to reading on this forum), but I'm not familiar with the CDED, EED. I'll take a peek. Thank you!

Thinking about Crohn's wrong has set patients back decades

@Pangolin Thanks - I've done some elimination diets but nothing really stood out. For me, finding key foods that trouble me are tough. Ugh.

Thinking about Crohn's wrong has set patients back decades

Do people suspect Crohn's could be driven by a food sensitivity or allergy causing the immune response? Just curious as I'm newer to the forums and Crohn's.

2 Nurse Dietician's telling me that I can have alcohol & coffee in moderation

@Pinecone7288 Hi Pinecone. I don't have a good response for you. My instinct is that others will say in general alcohol & caffeine are on the naughty list. But, I suspect the more experienced members will say to experiment with yourself and see if you can determine whether moderation is okay...

My Next Steps | Asking for feedback?

Hi All, I'm 39 Male, recently tentatively diagnosed with Crohn's disease. I've had this for a decade, but feeling pretty yucky as of late. My Pentasa seems to assist my anxiety levels but I'm still not getting much results, yet. I want to keep testing things to help. I'm wanting to take...

Anyone start an antidepressant for the first time during an active flare?

@sharkz Do you know if that was unique to you? Or more common with Crohn's? I'm curious b/c I never considered that before.

Anyone start an antidepressant for the first time during an active flare?

I personally have taken Lexapro (10mg) for five or six months. But I basically never reach remission. So, I don't have much to offer.

    My Story - Suspected Crohn's and it's Year 12

@lukesjr Good advice, I tend to stick with some name brands for that reason. Or otherwise, products that have high reviews and such. I'm pretty tempted to bust out my bottle of Wormwood and see what goes down. I been feeling like a truck ran over me the last 10 days.

    Morning/Daytime Breakfast Diet Advice

@Timelordsboots I'm not much for helpful advice, but I've been told the bloating may improve if you eat 2-3 hours prior to bed. It has helped with me with just the symptoms of bloating.
