Please read this on Chicken Broth. Interesting!

It is the best and easiest thing. I have now noticed whenever I have a flare, I make a pot up and it eases my tummy in no time to no pain at all. I seldom am without a pot of it in the fridge now, the health benefits are amazing.

    Bananas

Love nannas too. I loved smearing them in peanut butter once. Now I have them on the Coles Gluten free bread toasted for lunch, it's yummy and one of the few things I can eat at the moment that I do enjoy.

Nothing to lose but hopefully a flare!

Thanks you guys! It has taken me 20 years to realise how important food really is, especially when you are flaring. Had some blood taken today to see what my ESR is, it was 90 about 4 weeks ago.

Nothing to lose but hopefully a flare!

I flared up again maybe early July this year. 20 years of Crohns I am a bit over the high doses of prednisone and same old same old. I decided to put myself on 20mg pred straight away and seriously think about what I was shoveling in my gut. I stopped sugar, not immediately though, I wanted to...

    Doritos???

Stacy, yes corn is difficult to digest, it totally strips my gut if I eat it. When I am in remission I can have it with no pain (not corn on the cob though - ever). I find that if I am on Prednisone it seems to mask a lot of the pain I have and it can be difficult to tell what food does upset you.

    Diet

I stay away from red meat as much as possible. It definitely causes me grief. Meat cooked up in stews or casseroles doesn't seem to affect me as much, I can have it in small doses, but as soon as I get a good old steak into my guts, that's it, I know I will pay for it. For me, very hard to...

    Doritos???

Doritos are on of the worst things for me. I love Doritos but the taste just doesn't out weigh the pain I get. I know I can have them when I am not flaring up but when I'm having a flare, it is the worst thing for me to eat, anything corn in fact. He needs to give his gut time to heal. It will...

Help with food ideas for my son

AntsMommy, I am sad for you and your son. I have a 13 year old son and it would break my heart if he ever got Crohns like I have. I am currently trying to work out what food plays up on me, so far without a doubt I have worked out sugar has totally killed me. When i look back to my last few...

    Food Additives
