I always make a stock whenever Ive had a whole chicken.
How easy is it to shove the bones in a pan with chopped up carrots onion, and a couple of bay leaves. All you need to do is then simmer it for a couple of hours. Great to get all the meat off the bones afterwards and put that in.
Same here, I use it as a base for soup. I have a slow cooker so I chuck the whole carcass in in the morning, along with chopped veggies, herbs and a bit of pasta. Hey presto, I come home from work to find my fave dinner waiting for me!
It is the best and easiest thing. I have now noticed whenever I have a flare, I make a pot up and it eases my tummy in no time to no pain at all. I seldom am without a pot of it in the fridge now, the health benefits are amazing.
