It is so weird to think that this time last year I was laying in a hospital bed hooked to IV's requesting pain meds every two hours dreading the fact that I was having surgery in the morning. Since I know I probably wont have time tomorrow to post I thought I would post tonight. Tomorrow, on Halloween of course, I had my ileostomy surgery a year ago. It is so weird how much a person's life can change in a year. I am healthier for the most part and have gained tons of weight, some weight was a good thing, now we are pushing it. I cant help the fact that food tastes so much better when you arent running to the bathroom as soon as you swallow
Thank you to all those who have offered advice and words of encouragement throughout this past year! I honestly do not know how I would of survived without this forum! Knowing that there are other people out there in the world struggling with the same thoughts makes me feel so much less crazy!
Hope this next year remains positive and who knows maybe the reversal will happen and maybe not, but I do know whatever it holds my ostomates and crohnnies will be here for me!
