Infliximab here I come. Humira has stopped working & I've 2 choices, Infliximab or an Ileostomy. Really feeling upbeat about Infliximab, my Specialist tells me there's a 50% chance it'll work. So I 'm going to embrace it & hope to high heaven this is going to sort me out once & for all.

Highly suggest you add aza or MTX AS COMBO THERAPY to give yourself the best shot

Hi Robrich, I've been on both before. Methotrexate made me feel awful, quality of life was poor. Aza very nearly had very serious consequences for my blood.

2 weeks after my last infusion & I have tonsilitis & its horrible. We all know the risks of being on immunosuppressants but 2 days into a course of AB's & I feel utterly lousy. The inflammation is giving me terrible headaches.
The good news is my gut is atm good.
You cant have it all I guess.

Get better soon. I currently have strep throat, which is not fun, but since I've been in remission for two years with Remicade, I just try to cope with the viruses as they come along. This year has been a bad one for colds for me.

Thankyou everyone for your kind comments.
Tuff, I hope you continue in remission & the infections cease. My Dr has doubled me up on AB's & I'm feeling much better. Stomach is stable, obviously AB's can be a problem if they strip your gut of bacteria & along can come C Diff.
But no worries on that ft thankfully.

I love remicade.. I was on just remicade for 6 years and did very well. switched to cimzia bc it was an injection I could give myself and it failed.. so now I'm back on remicade, but they had to add imuran. However the moment I started back on remicade I've been feeling great again.

Have you tried antibiotics? They do many medical trials in Europe with rifaximine. Have you considered trials as well before surgery?

Had my latest infusion yesterday, a week early because I've been feeling lousy. Now I'm taking a keen interest in things like my CRP & weight.
Well my weight is down a bit again for the 3rd time running since feb. My CRP is 4, now this doesn't sound much but I'm not feeling great. But the worrying thing is my Red Cells are down, I'm not entirely surprised as I feel very tired & listless. I'm seeing my Specialist a week Monday, I'll try & have another blood test so he has really up to date results. Recently I haven't had visible blood in my BM's so if I'm bleeding its well hidden & the colouration is darker than the usual vivid red.
Bit worried about this turn of events tbh.
