6-mp ???

I'm suppose to go on 6-MP tomorrow , this after my surgery 2 months ago for Crohns. I'm alittle scared to go on it (never been on it). Should i be worried ??? Should i talk my doctor out of it and suggest something else ???

I was on it for many years. It didn't do much more me so now I'm on Remicade but I had no real side effects from it. Get your blood tests as your doctor asks you to and you should be fine.

Ive never had a problem with it, i think my body is coming imune to it though.

Both me and my sister take 6-mp. She has been on it for 3 or 4 years. She takes one pill a day. It keeps her in remission and doesn't have any side effects. I take one and a half pills along with Remicade and Pentasa. I haven't had side effects from it either. Medications effect everyone differently but it has helped both me and my sister. One thing to be aware of is that it might take a while to kick in. When my sister started taking it, she literally felt better after a couple of days. It took a couple of months for it to have an effect on me.

I was on 6-mp for almost 10 years. I was only taken off it 2 weeks ago.

I didn't find any side effects with it. (except 1 that I didn't know about, read my thread in the support forum)
I got my regular bloods, and nothing ever came up.

I was told at the time I might be susceptible to colds and throat infections but they never materialised.

Don't worry and hopefully it will give you some kind of remission.
