I did it. My will power and good sense just fled and left a gaping hole in my sense of good sense! LOL!

I took my "adopted" Grandaughter to Sonic to get her lunch..... she was spending the day at the office and where else can you get a filing clerk for the price of Sonic Popcorn Chicken and fries??? Well, I looked at the menu board and saw that great picture of the Sonic Super Cheese Burger.... hmmmm.... one wouldn't hurt would it.... I mean my CD has been under control for almost 2 weeks now...... Okay, just this once..... then when I pulled up to order from the little guy in the box on the pole... oh dang! Look at those onion rings!!!! mmmm - MM! Again that little red caped voiced whispered in my ear.... a medium order wouldn't hurt! So I came back to work and just REALLY REALLY enjoyed that lunch! I did not wolf it down.... I savored it.... I chewed every bite like 20 times just rolling it around in my mouth.... painting all those millions of taste bud with that grill fried, fat enhanced, breaded and deep fried goodness. No wine connoisseur ever savored a flavor like I did yesterday!!! Again, it bears repeating MMMMM -MM!

Then, last night, at 2:45 a.m. the first wave hit me.... barely made it to little room at the end of the hallway..... and then every 20 to 25 minutes I got to make the dash again...... oh the pain was just as exquisite too.... and when there was no "matter" in the "movement" I off loaded pints of O positive! And then to make sure I had my proper punishment for such sinful gorging the Universe allowed my upper tract to get in the act... and the nausea was just as much fun! But since I had nothing IN my stomach I just got to sing bass reflex to the porcelain stage! Oh that Super CheeseBurger and Onion Ring Blues!

I kept this up until 9 a.m. this morning.. and yes, I was even late for work! :yfrown:

P.S. One thing positive:::: In between times I went outside and observed almost the whole progression of the Yule Total Eclipse! Like that won':t happen again for a LONG time! :moon:

Ohhh, my guts are hurting just thinking about a hamburger and onion rings! I'm glad you at least got to savor it before it came back to haunt you. And that's very cool that you had the chance to see the lunar eclipse. I wasn't able to see it because we had a snowstorm here and the clouds got in the way.

Those menu boards are evil, aren't they? Making the food look soooooo good. Certain food commercials are the same way, especially for places like Red Lobster. I see their commercials and the food looks incredible, but when I go there I'm severely disappointed. So I have to remind myself of that whenever I see a delicious picture or commercial of food... just have to keep saying to myself that the food I actually get would never be as good as it looks in the photo!

I can do the burger but it's probably the roughage of the onion rings that really did you in.

I can get a hot pastrami sub from subway, a chicken and rice burrito from chipotle, and a bagel with lox and cream cheese from western bagel, but ZEUS' BUTTHOLE HELP ME if there's a damn slice of lettuce or tomato on there.

I miss smoothies too... im really grumpy about that right now. Healthiest thing in the world for everyone else, and the protein boosts help me keep my weight, but fruits have been pounding me when i try them as well the last few months.

Hope yer doing better and finished doing the time for your crime. I know it was worth it, Sonic is good.

if we ever ended up at Maccie D's, i used to opt for the chicken nuggets.... having seen that video now of how they're made (pink chicken paste - ugh) that's no longer something i want to put in my mouth ever again...

so last time, i had a plain burger (no plastic cheese, please) and just ate that, without the bread, & with small fries - i was ok :)

i know what you're saying about savouring every mouthful & taste - yesterday i missed lunch, so by tea-time i was starving - we got a chinese takeout, and i had a bit of everything, chicken fried rice, crunchy fried beef, a few chips - and i enjoyed every second of it. no ill effects either.

now, if i can just get the rest of me working as well as my digestion is right now, i'll be happy... lol

Ya when you're still in a flare you normal trigger foods tend to do you in about ten fold. Good thing the symptoms are only temporary. ;)

wow you guys can eat this stuff?

even a tiny bit of anything burgerlike / fries kicks my ass completely

I've been eating fish and rice for every meal for months now :/

It is not always the Cheeseburger.

Onions will make me sick, especially raw ones. The grease they are cooked in can also make me ill. It depends on how old it is and what kind of grease it is. It is highly inflammatory, and the Onion Ring batter soaks it up. I found this out by eating several different deep fried items. Some I would react badly to, others did not bother me.

I can eat baked fish, or fish made any way other than deep fried. If it is deep fried, it is a roll of the dice. French fries never bother me, probably because they do not hold the grease as much, and there is no batter involved.

I can eat almost anything else. I can eat the nastiest spicy stuff, and most anything that people with our disease cannot ever eat. I cannot tolerate onions, Malt or some deep fried foods.

I can eat cheeseburgers with no problems. Try a cheeseburger by itself, and see if it bothers you. I love cheeseburgers, and would hate to have to cut them out of my diet.

You might want to stick with real, home made type cheeseburgers also. The fast food kind sit like a lead weight in my gut. They do not make me sick, but they have something nasty in the buns that is indigestible to all humans.
