About a year ago I had an appendicitemy and took longer to recover than the average person, then a couple of months ago I started having flare ups and they got worse and worse as the weeks passed, I was rushed up to hospital several times and the pain was just unbearable. I had a colonoscopy and a MRI scan and got diagnosed with chron's disease. Then a few weeks when the results of the MRI and colonoscopy they said they don't think it's chrons, they think it's a result of the appendix operation thats lead to the flareups. This made me really happy because I don't look like your average chron's sufferer in terms of weight I mean I eat a lot and am not skinny ect. So they said I needed to have a ileum resection or something (where they remove part of your bowel/colon) so I had the surgery and after a week I thought it was allover, they said they would have the results in a month. I honestly felt as if I didn't have chron's again but then they called me in and it turns out after all that I still have chron's and he said it was survere.
And the only thing that seems to help is cannabis.

Welcome theOry!! Are you taking any meds besides mj? I'm sure it can make you feel better but I don't think it will help prevent future flares. How are you doing now?

I'm soo sorry about your current situation. I would also like to know if they have put you on any meds? I understand about the marijuana helping, but it doesn't fix the problems. I also use it, in addition to, my normal medications. I worry though that the doctors you have seen, seem to jump from one theory to another. If I were you I would consider going to a another GI for a second opinion. Good luck with everything and remember that you will be your biggest advocate. So don't stop with questions and telling them when something doesn't work.

When I was first first diagnosed with chron's I was on budesonide, then they stopped that and put me on prednisolone then after the surgery when I was officially diagnosed I've been on pentasa.
