a small question

Hey guys!! Just a weird question for you...

When you are flaring and have pain in the abdomen...are you ever able to push on your lower abdomen and feel exactly where the pain is coming from? This happens to me...and it always scares me every time, because normally I can feel the pain, but when I push on my stomach, I can't really feel exactly where it is...but every now and then, when the pain is less of a cramp, more of a "pain" I can feel exactly where it is. I guess I'm just seeing if this is a normal thing or not! Thanks :)

Yeah mines not really pain more of a discomfort when i push on it i can feel a lot of fluid build up and sometimes i can even get it to make noises - i am also very thin so maybe this is why i can feel it mroe

I can feel the pain at times....

..it seems to help ease the pain at times when I push in.

Molly...same with me. It hurts at first...but then it feels better...it's always been that way for me though...if I curl up in a ball, it feels so much better than laying down straight.

A heating pad (yeah, I know, I sound older than my years....lol), works wonders for me to be able to strech out in bed.
I get terrible cramps and charlie horses from staying balled up to long....argh!!!

hey ladyB did you deliberately post on 4:20 exactly?

I have the same problem sometimes......... right now it feels like im being stabbed in the lower right............ ouchies,........ sometimes in the top left of the stomach.

Ever since ive had crohns it always varried if i could pin point the pain and also ive always needed a pillow or something and curl up to make it feel better laying down straight always made it worse for me and using a heating pad worked well to

Yeah... for me, it's like the spot where the pain is gets really hard and almost moves as the pain moves.

yeah when i had my bad flare in december to early january, my lower right side had the worst pain and sometimes, i could feel something literally jump out of place, like my intestine was contracting or something...just in that one spot.

Yeah, the contracting thing your talking about Cheeky....

...it's enough to scare the poop out of you after you already have three kids and aren't looking for more....

....the pain 'rolls' around in your intestines and contracts and can nearly feel like the early fluttering of pregnancy....AAaaaahhhhhh!!!

99% of my pain comes from the RLQ of my belly (TI) and when I or my GI presses on it I darn near jump. It's very focused most of the time. Every once in awhile though I do get more generalized pain when I'm driving of all things and it's on my left side and it feels like muscle spasms so it's hard to track down but if it's that dreaded RLQ pain I can always pinpoint it.

Drew-
Do you drive a manual or automatic??
I have a stick-shift and it can be brutle on my gut when I'm driving.

ahhh...the hot water bottle...my best friend since 1994!! haha...even when I'm not sick, it comforts me. I love it. I have had the same one ever since I was a kid. I think I will cry when it springs a leak. I also have the same towel to wrap it in since I was a kid!! It's on it's last legs though.

I almost always have pain in my RLQ...sometimes in the left, but that passes quickly...which leads me to believe it's just gas.

I am in the same boat with ya girly! Mine tends to be right above my belly button. If I push on it, sometimes it feels like there is a rock in there. There have been several nights that no matter how I lay I just can not get "comfortable."
