Hi all,
Male & in my 20s, gsoh, would like to meet...oh wait wrong type of forum :ybatty:
...I was diagnosed with Crohn's close to 10 years ago & in that time I have had multiple operations, been on more courses of steroids that I care to remember & have had a feeding tube attached to my stomach.
I've tried almost every medication that my specialist can think of, from azapriothine through to methotrexate& everything in-between with my flavour of the month being a shot of Humira every now & then...self injected of-course.
So that's my lot; I've long held the notion that I've been fine & can cope with anything life can throw at me & for years that's worked fine. I've kept my Crohn's to myself through my college/university & so-far my working life, with only my close family &a handful of friends knowing its extent.
Recent Crohn's activity has made me doubt my ability to cope & as good as friends & family are they just don't 'get' how messed up things can get during flare-up.
I was told by my consultant that if I joined a forum or a support group & spoke openly about my experiences with the disease it would provide me with a secure outlet & an extra avenue for information. & ofcourse information is a two-way street, I've been on a lot different treatments & diets & I'll try my best to help others when I can
