Alright....so I spent the night in the ER, never fun. Saturday night I wasnt feeling well, went to church on Sunday morning and then out to lunch. I had a little soup, one bite of stuffed mushrooms, bread and a few bites of salad. An hour and half after I got home I started having severe acid reflux...soI took Zantac for it and that made me sick. I started to vomit and kept going for 5 hours!! I couldnt go poo, but was violently throwing up every few minutes. Called GI told to go to the ER...so I did. I was so amazed at my service there, they treated me wonderfully. Id never had such great treatment in the ER. They immediately gave me something for vomiting (didnt work), then got me back to a room and gave me something stronger. That helped, then they asked questions. THey gave me pain meds and I was able to relax while I took 3 bags of IV solution!! They ran blood and urine work, and all came back normal, a slight elevated CRP level. They gave me the option to stay or go home. I came home, but before I left they dosed me up again. So I came home and slept and feel much better. Today, Im super sore all over, especially in my thoat and chest from all the acid I vomited up. Anyway, Im happy to report that this was my first time to the ER since diagnosis and they treated me much differently than they have in the past.

I'm sorry to hear that BLM, but I'm glad you're feeling better now. I had a similar situation although slightly different. I had some cake in the evening then my stomach felt very bloated. I was hiccuping and couldn't eat the rest of the day. I was up all night vomited 3 times and had a bowel movement once (if you could believe that), anyways mine ended with an ER visit as well and they said it was a blockage. I got the IV like yourself and was better in a couple of days. Do you think it's triggered by something we eat? I recently saw a naturalist and he tested a bunch of foods on me and he told me which ones were bad for me. I noticed once I started cutting those foods out that my symptoms improved significantly. You could give it shot if that helps:)

ER trips are never fun, it sound like a bowel obstruction and could be from the salad, carrots, celery and greens will cause blockage. I love salads and it is one of the reasons I dont eat them. Glad you got quick relief and help, you are lucky, hopefully you wont have to go thru this, but barium follow thru may show narrowing if that is the cause. Hang tight.

Whooo....not a fun weekend, Bev, but I'm so so glad to hear that they took good care of you. Keep feeling better!

Whoa - not fun at all. Glad to hear you are home. Just a note on the mushrooms, my dietician told me to avoid them at all costs. Mushrooms do not digest (for anyone) so they go through your system at whatever size you chew them up to. Such a shame because they were my favourite thing :(
