I have had crohn's disease since 1978. In away I have been lucky as I have only had two surgeries. Since the early 2000's I started developing these very painful drainage areas on the right side of my butt. My GI says this I related to Crohn's and unfortunately there is no real treatment as surgery is not a a guarantee. Since Abcessess or caused by bacteria in nature, is there any drugs that could minimize these issues? Not keen on any more surgeries as I am just now recovering from a component seperation hernia surgery related to my last resection surgery. I would not wish this disease on anyone, very embarrassing and painful. I don't even think my family realizes just what type of effort you need just to block the pain and go to work.
I am 47 and have been told that crohn's sometimes just burns out, boy to do I hope so. I feel I am missing out on what should be the best time of my life and with my family.
Thanks for letting me vent...
