Hi All,

I have ileal crohn's which has been under good control for several years on azathioprine. For the last week or so I've been having intermittent right sided abdominal pain, worse when I have a bowel movement, as well as some pretty severe rectal pain/spasms. I've been tired (but just started a new job) and am otherwise feeling well without nausea or diarrhea. Thoughts? Could this be my crohn's? The pain can get bad enough that it wakes me up in the middle of the night.

Thanks in advance!

I would call your Gi
For my son it was proctitis as part of his crohn's but he has inflammation from one end of the Gi tract to the other. It can cause abdominal pain, rectal spasms , rectal pain etc...

Definitely worth calling your Gi.

This could well be your crohns starting to flare, the intermittent right sided pain is the very first symptom I had, and it was undiagnosed for a long time. I would see your GP or GI and let them know whats happening. Its always wise to be safe rather than sorry :).
