I was on a clinical trial for abt 874. drug company stopped trial .have been sick ever since anyone with a similar experience

Welcome to the forum, do you have IBD? Could you tell us more about youself and your journey, on a YOUR Story thread. Hope you get some relief soon.

Huh, Abbot stopped their trial for that drug? Did they tell you why at all? I can't find any articles about them stopping the trial. I did read somewhere that it was apparently less effective for Crohn's than for psoriasis, though. It's sad when new drugs for us don't pan out. Sorry to hear you're having a rough time. :(

Actually the drug was working quite well. I was in the open label phase receiving med but was told there are more effective meds out there. I have had Crohn's since 99. On Imuran, Asacol. Since the termination of the clinical trial md has added Humira and prednisone with out much improvement. I have heard that Stelara(also used for psoriasis) may be considered for crohn's. This is another interleukin12/23 biologic similar to abt 874. I frustrated that a med that was actually working is not available. I have contacted Abott labs about other trials or how to obtain med with no luck. Just wondering if anyone has participated in this study and if they might have information to share. Thanks!
