Seen as though I've had no real guidance in how to treat my condition after I left hospital, I'm pretty much open to new things. I mean, I have the painkillers, but I've heard good things about Acupuncture calming the tensions of the body. Stress, I truly believe, does contribute to the amount of pain I have been suffering recently and I'm willing to see how things could go with new treatment.

Just out of interest, I wanted to hear if anyone else has experienced Acupuncture at some point in their lives?

Same here I would really love to know if anyone does this and if it works. I have considered it and even went to call to make an appointment but just got busy or sick so haven't done it yet.

I thought about it and I went with my GF to watch her get acupuncture. It was a bit to silly for me so I never did it. After they stuck needles in her face and lit them on fire I laughed and never went back.

Would love to hear you thoughts on it though. Was just too hippy dippy for me.

I had acupuncture on my shoulder a few years ago, I had an inflamed bursa sac. I was sceptical at first but it honestly was awesome! It helped so much!
I have always wondered about acupuncture for crohns, let us know.

I'd also be interested to hear how you get on with acupuncture Ataraxia. My friend has it for pain caused by endometriosis & she says it works wonders. I've been considering it myself.

I had some acupuntcutre for my Crohn's back in October/November last year. I only had 6 sessions as I ended up in hospital with a stricture, so not so sure it worked! However, I did find it very relaxing. It may work for others, but it wasn't for me.

I had many sessions of acupuncture a few years ago from an MD who also did acupuncture. I started going once a week for a month and then it tapered off until I was going about once a month. My Crohns symptoms did improve (less urgency/pain) and my gastro doc refused to believe it was the acupuncture even though he didn't do anything to change my meds!! I don't think that acupuncture alone will be enough to help Crohns.... but a treatment including both would be incredibly effective. The acupuncture was too expensive for me to keep up (although it was only $60 a session).
