Hi,
I'm 27 years old and was diagnosed with coeliac disease in Feb 2010. However I continue to have problems many of whom including medics think it could be crohns. I'd appreciate your opinion on symptoms.
Coeliac - urgency to use the loo but once been pain subsides
?crohns - severe excruciating pain sudden onset
Tummy becomes very hot t touch
Urgency to use toilet
Painkillers including tramadol don't ease the pain
Feeling of sickness
Hot flushes
Occasionally knees goes boiling hot to touch, stiff and red - GP thinks this could be linked
Pain is mainly in lower right sided abdomen and at back passage. (very low in abdomen)
I've been referred and am awaiting consultant review however this 'specialist' diagnosed me with IBS and only did further tests because my GP at the time stated there was no way the pain. Was experiencing was just IBS (not that IBS is a painless condition but not one needing copious amounts of tramadol.
I also have problems with absorption and 2 years ago needed ferritin infusions.I am on ferritin tablets but it's dropping again and I need more transfusion. My calcium, vitamin B and D are also low even though I am on treatment for them. Also worth pointing out that whenever I have bloods done my inflammatory markers are always raised.
If anyone can look at this and think it sounds like crohns or indeed not I'd be grateful for your opinions.
Many thanks,
Gemma
(P.S. Am having an episode now - seems to go on and off for a few days then nothing, then bk :redface)
