Hello I have had crohns since 92 ,I started having problems in may when my 12 year old was diagnosed with crohns....:frown: well I had a colonoscopy done and it showed active disease so my doc started prednisone was on that for about 4 -5 months and it wasn't. Working so he started humera I am doing my second dose tomorrow ,well this time my crohns wasn't like the last time ,with diarreha , it is off and on I will have the urgency in the morning and as the day goes on I feel like I can't go...that is so confusing to me ! So last night I talked to my doc and he says maybe its not my crohns that is causing all my problems...today I have horrible back pain, this morning when I had a bowelmovement I felt like I was dying! Horrific pain! So I missed work I always have nausea to. I am so confused ? I see him Thursday so I am going to ask him why he would put me on something like humera and not be sure if my problem is my crohns, during the colonoscopy he said I had many ulcers and disease where I had my previous resection.....I am so confused? Ty for letting me vent...opinions welcome please

so when the dr made the comment about it possibly being something else; did he give any insight as to what?? Did he refer you to another MD or perhaps; order more tests/labs? A professional MD does not make a statement like that without some follow through.
Sounds like it could be an obstruction with the horrible back pain. One can have diarrhea even with an obstruction. How is the Humira working so far? How long does it take to start effectively treating Crohns? I think my dr is going to put me on it on the 23rd when I see her. I just had a resection and absess removal on 9/12. did he take you off the Pred when you started the Humira? i have never been on either.

I have the same pattern, I have terrible diarrhea in the morning then I get constipated with cramps at night. My doctor believes it's partial obstruction. Ask your doctor for something for the nausea. I think its too early to expect results from Humira or any biologic, some people get results earlier but they are an exception, try to give it time. I'm on Remicade I have my fifth dosage in a week and I'm still not in remission though I see some improvements.
Did you have a CT scan? As it's fairly conclusive in detecting obstruction.

Hello, none didn't say anything else of what it could be...I go in today at 145 so hopefully I will get some answers ....I'm still on the predisone only 20 mg ,last night I went to bed with terrible joint pain in my knees....he put me on Celebrex for the pain for about 2 weeks but started having a burning feeling in my stomach so I'm off that now....the problem I am having is when I had my colonoscopy he told me I had active disease where I had my resection done...and had many adhesions ( ulcers) ...then I talk to him about 2 weeks later and he says my disease was not that bad....then in my appt. he says well you don't look toxic ????? I said we'll I feel like crap ! And no I haven't had a ct done ....I'm just ready to get a second opinion done:mad2: I know everyone is different but when my little girl was going through her problems she never have diarrhea...and my doc seems to think that because I don't have diarrhea my crohns is not active? Or not that bad ? I am so frustrated :yfrown: any way Ty for listening

I had the same type of symptoms and when I spoke with my GI she said it was partially from my obstructions and also that it wasn't 'constipation' like normal people get but something that needed an enama treatment because it could have bad bacteria that's causing it. I hope you get some relief with going to see your doctor.
