Hi there
Just wanted some advice i have had crones for 12 years & recently i have had a flare up of my symptoms. My main problem is my tongue is very sore which is stopping me from eating hot food or having hot drinks. Its been like this now for 4months & my doctor has prescibed me steroids, oracot paste & difflam all of which has done nothing to improve it. Anyone else had this & if so what did you do or use to improve matters? Any advice or help would be fab as i am so fed up with it:(

Have you tried pure pineapple juice? It is used in some intensive care units as part of the mouth care routine as it has properties to promote healing and kills bugs, there has been research done into it.

You dont need to drink gallons of it just coat your mouth - so use a sponge applicator or swill a mouthful round and either spit it out or swallow it.

Just an idea... others may be able to help more. Hope you feel better soon.

Hmm, when my tongue is sore (I get geographic tongue), then pineapple juice makes it hurt even more and sometime it can cause it to bleed slightly.

I've got the same problem but only had it for a few weeks. It feels like tingling and I've also had sores at the side of my mouth aswell. I got some 'soothagel' from Boots (you could probably get it from a chemist too) an you just put a little blob on your clean finger, then put it on your tongue. It sort of coats your tongue an it stops hurting for a while. You can keep putting more on throughout the day. Hope it helps 🌸
