advocacy for crohns

Hey everyone

i have to do a project for a class, an advocacy project and i wanted to do something with crohns. i initially thought i wanted to try to raise money for ccfa but for the project you cant just raise money. you have to do some education with it (like letting people know about the disease;create awareness). so, i was wondering if any of you have any ideas for a plan of action. i can't just stand up at wal-mart handing out brochures and accepting donations b/c my teacher said that wouldn't be good b/c they are just going to throw the brochure away and i wouldn't be educating them.

any ideas are appreciated!

Not sure about organistions in the US but can you start by addressing the school at an assembly and then move onto some service clubs, perhaps they might take up the cause at some point and raise and donate money to CCFA. The things I had in mind were like -

Rotary
Apex

Also how about a column in the local paper.

You could make a video for U Tube, start a Facebook discussion or have a facebook event and invite people, or start a Blog.
If it is one thing Crohn's an use it is advocacy!!!! Wonderful idea!!!!
