She said she had been in a lot of pain and wasn't able to pass much stool. Said she thought she was constipated yet stool softeners weren't helping so she went to the ER.

She had blood work and a CT scan done once she got to the ER. White blood count is high. They didn't see an obstruction but there is a lot of stool in her system (too much she said). She was told that her rectum may be diseased and that that's why she's in so much pain (this isn't for sure, its a theory at the moment). The doctors will discuss the best way to get rid of the stool.

I don't know how long they're keeping her for but so far she has an IV and was given pain medication so she's feeling more comfortable at least.

I'll update when I know more.

Feel better Afidz!

Edit: She's been given antibiotics and steroids for now.

((((Hugs)))))

Hope they figure all of this out and you can be home soon! Glad you are feeling a bit better.

Any new updates on afidz? On facebook she mentioned finally being able to get some sleep. But, nothing else. Hopefully things are starting to be figured out for her...

She said she's exhausted and had another long and painful night. Still in pain she says. :(

I haven't heard from her in a while. She was probably given more pain medication and went to sleep and or they may be doing another test, I'm not sure. I'll update when I know more.

I got a text from her saying that when the pain meds wear off she's practically screaming in pain. She also said she hasn't seen the doctor yet and its the end of the day. She assumes they are waiting until they hear from her GI possibly tomorrow but even then the doctor should come in and tell her that and give her an update on her blood test results (should be taking blood every morning) and at least see how she's doing.

Thank you every one for your well wishes. I finally pooped around 1 am . I would of loved to weigh the sucker! I was hoping that once I went I would feel fine and resume activity. But it seems like I've opened Pandora's box. All of the symptoms of a flare I was happy not to have have come full swing. Something tells my my vacation next week isn't going to go well.

I am doing better, I am allowed to eat again. They stopped the steroids, they don't think Crohn's as progressed to my rectum, it was just irritated by all of the impacted stool. They are going to put some type of cream around my rectum to bring down the swelling. They have not ruled out any abceses or fissures yet, he hasn't found any but just because he can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there. Something was blocking my stool from coming out just have to figure out what. Anyways, I am still pretty high on pain meds so I am not sure if I am making sense or not. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes. It really does mean a lot to me to be a part of such a supportive community. Doc says I am definitely here for at least one more day so looking to going home on Wednesday. I will try to keep everyone updated but if I don't Jenn will. (assuming of course, I haven't actually asked her :p )

Thanks for updating us, I'm glad you are well enough to log on even if only for a bit. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon and that it's nothing too serious.

I look like I have been mugged. No joke. My arms are black and blue from all of the attempted IV's. My face is breaking out with large patches of dry skin and zits. My eyes are sunken in. I have been very dizzy the last couple hours, been getting double or blurred vision.
I am worried I am getting constipated again, after numerous episodes of D yesterday I have yet to go today, but I feel like I have to go, just can't make it happen.
My rectum is still very sore from earlier in the week, I can't even fathom the thought of going through that pain again.
Anyways, my white blood cell count is down, so I should be discharged tomorrow, I will keep you all updated.

Afidz is home but can't really see (possible uveitis/iritis acting up again). That's all I know.

Yay for being home! :D

Jenifer I have no recollection of texting you I was home. HAHA! I pretty much slept all day yesterday. I feel pretty awful today Still haven't had a bowel movement. Everything feels swollen. Going to try to relax today but I have a lot of homework to catch up on

Do you think it's possible that you're not constipated, just empty from having so much diarrhoea the day before?

I'm glad to hear you're home. Getting home after a stay in hospital is the best feeling. :)

I haven't gone for 3-4 days and I have eaten since then. I was able to go a little bit a few hours ago. I am just taking it easy for a while.
The on call GI said it didn't seem like my disease has progressed to my rectum but that I need to follow up with my GI to be sure. Hopefully it hasn't, I had never had a problem with constipation before.

I'm doing alright! good moments and bad moments. Been relaxing all day today because I am going on vacation on Tuesday and I don't want Crohn's to bring down my good time.
