I'm at a loss as are her GI and GP.

She can eat during the day but come dinner time she suffer with belly/abdominal pains that can last for an hour to half the night.

We use to think mobility (which it still could be) but the second opinion said Grace had gastritis that had spread by second scopes. She also confirmed because it was patchy and defined, that it very well could be Crohn's there.:yfaint:

So has this every happened with your kids. Pain after JUST dinner?

Yes but mine has confirmed crohn's in his upper GI track so....
once we got the right meds no more pain after dinner.

or it could be egad or reflux related or... or.... or.....
good luck

Caitlyn's pain is also always worse at night especially after dinner. I don't know what the connection is. :(

When my son was flaring he had pain above, and radiating around his belly button area almost constantly. He said it kind of felt like hunger pains and gas pains together, but worse. The pain would increase after he ate, and it was worse after dinner than it was after lunch or breakfast. This is also when his fevers would increase. It was like his body was just too tired by the end of the day to fight it anymore. BTW, my son's CD is in the jejunum of the small intestine.

Its all at dinner with Kian too, that's nearly always when he has to stop half way through dinner and go for a poo. sore tummy doesn't last long though and I asked him if it happens at luch time at school he says no, just at dinner.... strange. xx

I assume dinner is the main meal for you?

I wonder for those that have issues with an evening meal could factors like…

The size of the meal

Reduced activity at this time of the day

The amount of time between dinner and bedtime

…be playing into it?

Dusty. xxx

I was thinking all that Dusty mentioned... I was also thinking that it could be that her body/bowels have been working all day... she's had breakfast, lunch and snacks and she's been using up energy all day, by dinner, her body is tired and her intestinal system has simply become more vulnerable/sensitive and less tolerant and less able to 'work well'. After resting overnight, her body is again better able to deal with the food, digestion, etc. Think of it as if you had a sore foot, you might be able to walk on it for a while but, as the day wore on and you used your foot more and more, the pain in your foot would increase.

Yes I have to agree with you and Dusty, Tess.
Why now? After all she's been through. Why now?
I mean I now what it is, I just don't what to type it.

I had a talk with Grace's teacher and we're pulling her out of full time school.
We're hoping this will help her tiredness. I guess she's been giving her teacher some attitude problems.:yfaint: Thankful her teacher knows sometime more is going on.

Also her new doctor wants to get soft braces for her legs. Her ankles and right wrist are getting sprained easily. We're concerned in time more damage is going to happen.
Waiting to hear from the rheumatologist on her thoughts.

I feel like such a deflated balloon today.:confused2:

Time to add more meds?

As Freddy would say 'super squeezy huggle' heading your way (to add to Dusty's one!) - sorry I can't be more help than that :(
I'm so sorry little FG is still having so many troubles xxxx

FW,
Sending lots off hugs, second you in the deflated balloon feeling. I can't figure out why but for some reason our doctors positive attitude made me feel worse. I do t know my husband says I used to be a glass half full kind a girl. Now I'm kinda the glass is half empty and it's getting emptier by the minute!!!!!!!!

Thinking of you. Sorry she is having to come out of full time school. I really hope it makes a difference.
