Alcohol

[Troubled]

Hi All!

Do many common Crohn's medications conflict with alcohol? I know its not recommended with steroids and absolutely forbidden with Flagyl. I suspect a diagnosis is imminent, but I like a drink now and then!

I don't recall which one but I read one of the medications recently said light drinking.

i think the issue is most of the drugs such as immunosuppressants and biologics affect the liver. So adding in alcohol, which also affects the liver may give it a difficult time to process the two and could increase the risk of toxicity?

After our research, my son made the decision not to drink. He had one glass of wine on Thanksgiving which I fretted about. If you live in a state where it's legal, I'd switch to marijuana.
