all at once?

Hey, so quick question,
Since being in the hospital my GI had me on Prednisone, Flagyl, and Imuran. It has been two weeks and the Flagyl is done and she wanted to put me on Remicade which required a TB test so she immediately stopped the pred.
I had my first Remicade infusion today and afterward spoke with GI. I thought she was going to take me off Imuran, but she said continue Imuran with Remicade and in addition to that take Pentasa 4000mg/day. Is this normal to be on these three meds all at once? I thought it was like either Remicade or Humira or Imuran, but not any mixed together. Also, she told me I have one of the more severe cases she's seen in a while so that might be why she's throwing everything at me at once, but I don't know it seems like a lot and just want to know if it's normal. Any input is appreciated =]
Thanks

Well that's two for inflammation and one immune suppressant. It doesn't sound odd to me. Remicade is commonly used with an immune suppressant. I took Asacol (Pentasa), 6MP, Prednisone and Entocort before my surgery. If you are doing that bad then yes they do like to throw everything at you all at once. :p Its temporary though until it gets back under control. Now I only take 6MP.

oh okay, thank you. I was just a little confused, but I'm not complaining cuz this combo of meds is seeming to work. even though it's only day one today I feel amazing

That doesnt sounds too much to me :)
There are many people who are taking much more medication than you are.

yeah i'm grateful cuz i know it could be a lot more. I just thought you either took remicade OR humira OR imuran. i didn't know you could mix them together that was my confusion

I don't think you can mix Remicade/Humira/Cimzia with each other, but using one of them in conjunction with other drugs is common.
