Gravy is a massive no no for me. Does anyone have anything alternative to try for beef and chicken. I have not looked as yet what is in gravy granules or stock cubes. I will do over the weekend.

Store bought gravy often has loads of MSG, which is a no-no for me. Gravy from a health food store is more natural, less chemicals, no MSG.

Hi Lilpiggy, Usually the stock cubes are full of MSG as well. I have to stay away from MSG. As Tzvia said, you can get gravy at a health food store-just make sure it says no MSG since, at least here in the states, they can "hide" MSG on the food ingredient label. You could also try making your own and then have control over what ingredients go in it.

Gravy
Cook chicken in a pan
When it's done and the pan is hot
Put salt water and "flour" or starch of your choice
Whisk on low heat
Or alternatively use a pan after browning onions
With salt water flour
Or add
Chicken stock instead of water
With flour /starch and salt

Hey guys, thank you so much for your replies. I will definately look into MSG and visit one of the health food stores here. Au jus sounds good too so I will try, and also the chicken recipes, chutney, honey & mustard and I will see how I get on.

Yes gravy granules and stock cubes have the same effect.
