Am I having a flare up?

Hi Guys!

First post on here! I was diagnosed with Crohns in May 2013, had 3 flare ups and had a stoma for 2014. Stoma was reversed (YAY :dusty: ) at the end of 2014. Now we're nearing the end of 2015, and I've managed to go flare free. However, I seem to have forgotten what its like when you're starting to flare up.

Lately, my boyfriend and I broke up, we were living together and planning traveling and the whole thing has been really stressful. I'm not on any medication for my Crohns Disease, but I do smoke Mary Jane to help with my symptoms.

Since the break up, I've been having diarrhea, slight pains here and there and my stomach gets bloated quite a bit. My appetite has been up and down and I haven't been sleeping well. I'm not sure if I should relate this just to breakup stress or if this is the start of a flare. I've also lately been suffering a red itchy rash that comes up on my hands and lower arms.

Just looking to see if anyone else has similar symptoms before a flare up. Getting a stool sample soon but this is to answer my questions until I get the results!

I'm hoping it's just stress for you. Fingers crossed. My flares seem to get bad quickly meaning diarrhea and pain after eating. Not sure how much warning anyone else gets for a flare starting.

Thanks Teeny5, I keep getting small pains here and there but nothing too bad. I have apry of being told I was flaring and I should have been in more pain than I was, maybe I don't feel the pain till it's really bad disease wise!

personally, stress really affects me!!

Ironically (or not so much) i've had an ongoing flare up for around 5 months and it first hit me upon breaking up with my boyfriend, too! The pain gets to me in different ways so some days its a dull ache and others it's almost like severe cramping and tender to touch!

Hey, yeah I can imagine we're not the only ones!

Update today, severe fatigue hit me at work to the point I felt like throwing up, and I've had a few sharp pains and my stomach bloated up again. Sad times, at least I'm only doing part time work!

Stool sample is going into GPs tomorrow and will be sent off Friday , perks of living rural... Will let everyone know the results! Thank you all for your support! Definitely going to use this site more!

Hi to everyone that helped me with this post! Turns out I am flaring, calpro levels are at 136 from when it was checked last, a few months ago! Back on Azathioprine now... wahoo!
