Hello everyone!

This week on Friday, i'm suppose to be having surgery to remove my parathryoid because I have Hyperparathyroidism. I'm not sure if it's a viral thing or if deep down I have anxiety getting the best of me. I've had bowel movements that will feel like I'm going to have massive Diarrhea and it turns out to be loose and I'll also feel nauseated. This has been happening since Monday on and off and it freaks me out. I have a lot of gurgling on my right side. I want to go through with this surgery and I'm just so scared if I'm sick of if my Crohns in acting up from anxiety. :frown:

Anxiety and stress are the worst for crohns. I dont know if your Dr can give you something temporarily to calm you down?

I do understand. Before my hernia op the first time, I was 'bricking it' as we say over here.....guess who flared?

Try to relax, yeah, I know. But get some help if you can.

What meds are you on for your crohns?

6-MP, Entocort, Pentasa, Bentyl, and Vitamin D 400 pill and then vancomycin ( for a c-diff infection that occured two weeks ago)

Staying calm is something I'm not very good at, i've tried to be, but it's really hard.

I hope your Dr can suggest something to help you!

Staying calm is very important with this bugger of a disease.

Thanks! I do believe this is most of my problem. I've never had surgery before and last time I was in the Hospital was back in December and I felt horrible!

After this is all over with, learn some stress coping techniques if you can. Meditation, or whatever works for you. Ask for some advice from the Dr. Not just pills to help out there. Just find what works for you. You'll have to live with this disease, and somehow, cope with stress to help yourself not flare. Not easy, but you can do it!

I read a book about Cognitive Behaviour Therapy that helps me immensely even today. But I would've preferred a personal consultation.

Wow! Thanks for the tips! I will look into something. I'm suppose to call my doctor Tuesday so I'll mention it to him to see if he has any suggestions? When I was little, I use to get so worked up over anxiety that I would either throw up or go in my pants. I've always had bowel issues, but finally was diagnosed with Crohns in December. Before that, I battled an intestinal infection called c-diff for three years before that.
