Mine just came back extremely high on a test.

I'm also looking at Wilson's as a potential culprit as my copper was pretty high. It might even explain my high crohn's symptoms that don't respond to treatment.

I took a follow up test today and waiting for results anxiously. I cut back sources of copper from my diet and started taking a liver-detox supplement with milk thistle and dandelion and vitamin C to detox some of the copper.

If anything I've been feeling worse but apparently copper detoxing can do that. I'm not sure if it's that or my crohn's getting aggravated.

Too many variables in life.

Hi instant coffee. Hope the results give you an answer. Im afraid i cant answer the question maybe someone else will know. Best wishes

This is purely anecdotal and probably just coincidence, but I had some liver issues when my IBD symptoms first manifested. I had focal nodular hyperplasias, which I was told were basically benign tumors on my liver. They've since disappeared on their own - no idea why they manifested in the first place or why they mysteriously disappeared. My liver is apparently fine now. I realize this is pretty unhelpful, but that's the only liver involvement I've ever had as far as I know.

That was more luck of dumb luck. Lol. Excuse the duplicate. [emoji1]

I've seen several members on here that have elevated liver numbers when flaring.

There are also some EIMs that can come with CD that involve the liver like PSC and small duct PSC. There are several peds kids on here that have that though I think the average age of occurrence is 15-30. I actually read a paper about copper levels and their relation to PSC. I'll see if I can find it. But like I said I've seen a number of posts where those with active disease had some level of elevation in liver numbers.

Sorry I couldn't come across the paper again but PSC is more common with UC than CD. I can't remember the specifics.

I hope your recent tests come back with good results and that the elevated levels were not a cause for concern.

Some of the medications used to treat CD can cause elevated liver tests.
I think....

Pretty sure I was told that about the Remicade.

I have not heard of elevated copper before- always something new to learn with this disease.

Hope it resolves itself soon!

Bacterial overgrowth and intestinal permeability also known as leaky gut have been linked to elevated liver enzymes and liver disease.

Forgot I made a thread about this. I think it must have been outside factors, likely that I just recovered from tosilitis and was taking antibiotics + started an intense workout routine. I got a follow up a month later and all is well.
