Well I've been taking the drugs Asacol HD 800mg @ 3/day and Robinul Forte 2mg @ 2/day for 5 days so far. I have found no side effects at all with the Asacol, but it seems the Robinul is causing me problems. Was not causing problems the first day or so, but has gotten slowly worse. An hour after taking it, I can barely function. I start feeling VERY tired and SLOOOOWWW! Seems as though time is just moving by so fast and I'm standing still. I get very hot and am not sweating like I should when working outside. I crave water like a crack addict wants crack. Every half hour, I'm looking for water. It doesn't do much good though because my throat is still dry and scratchy. I have also gotten very, very irritable and short tempered with people.
I did the research on the Robinul and it looks like the side effects are perfectly normal for this drug and it's doing what it's supposed to do. So why did my doctor put me on something like this when he knows I work outside a lot? Anybody else have experience with this drug? My doctor was out Friday when I called, so I have been taking it anyway this weekend at home until I can talk to him Monday. I'm hoping that I'll get used to it after time so I've been taking it real easy (I slept 6 hours yesterday afternoon) Yawn!
