Anyone also have PCOS?

I felt alone and miserable before, but now that I'm having all of these GI issues I feel it's a double whammy. PCOS is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I've been in so much pain for the past few years and working on bettering my health, but now with the stomach issues it feels fruitless. I've been down in the dumps and don't really want to go out much. Anyone else?

I don't have polycystic ovary syndrome (obviously ;-) but I can PM you a PDF of a very good journal article on the condition, which in particular outlines the relationship of PCOS to obesity and diabetes. Let me know if you'd like a copy.

Hi there

I have PCOS - I got dx when I was 20 with it. I got my chrons dx in the late 90's. I also have endo and so I did have a mirena for 5 years, now I am on provera. My body does not like estrogen based pills as it screws with my emotions far too much so I tend to go progesteron (sp) way instead. It's fairly undercontrol. I also take metformin for the PCOS and my diabetes and that helps with the hirsutism (sp). My ovaries look like pitted golf balls.

How do you manage your PCOS?

Hey Aura! I take metformin twice a day and spironolactone. I was on BC for years before the doctor realized it was sending my triglycerides through the roof. They should be below 200, but they were 1802. So, I was taken off BC and given tricor for the trigs. I also had no clue the BC had been giving me migraines until I came off it! It's amazing just how severely hormones can rule your life.

I've been trying to lose weight, but it's incredibly difficult. I started a low carb diet back in January and lost about 20 lbs in 2 months, but I got off track. Now I have started zumba and just making healthier choices instead of sticking to a diet.
