Hi I was prescribed Ferrous Sulphate Iron supplements to take after colonoscopy as I was anemic, this was before I was diagnosed with crohn's and ulceration in tummy.
When I took them I felt really sick so naturally I've stopped.

I should have read instructions first. It says not to take if you have untreated ulcers, or inflammation..
I've just started medication a couple of days ago... I'm on pentasa and Omeprazole

Any advice????

I've taken ferrous sulphate before with no problems.

However, if it's upsetting your stomach then go back to your doc, there are other types of iron tablet they can prescribe that are gentler, failing that I think there are liquid supplements too. They just like to try the sulphate first as it's cheaper and I think the iron is more available to your system or something, you have to take more of the other kinds.

Iron supplements will hurt your stomach. Iron infusions would be much better if your doctor will prescribe them.

Cheers for the replies,
Gentler supplement sounds good, can't handle that harsh feeling on my tummy.
I googled Iron infusions poppysocks as I'd never heard of that before many thanks, I will definitely look into that.
