anyone find that MM reduces frequency/urgency?

In a last ditch effort to get better control over the frequency and urgency of bathroom trips, I have been using MM. Within days I noticed that I was no longer going to the bathroom 2-3 times a night, and the nuber of "day trips" was significantly reduced. I also noticed the sense of "urgency" has subsided greatly, to the point that I'm better able to eat out at restaurants without having to run to the bathroom.

Which type of MM is better suited for reducing cramping/spasming -- indica or sativa? I have no idea how to tell what type I of MM I have been getting. There is no MM law or dispensaries in my state so what is available is "pot luck" so to speak. Anyone help me out with these questions?

I have experienced MM helping with frequency and urgency of bowel movements.

Indicas are best for cramping/spasming but I've had luck with them all. I probably mainly use hybrids. It's not legal where I live either and have no real choices. I just get the highest grade available.

There is a lot of great information on strains HERE

That IS interesting. After having extensive surgery for Crohn's to my Ileum years ago I have been left with having to run to the bathroom approximately 12 times per day. For someone like me, for whom Immodium or loperamide are useless it would seem that MM might really help? Especially since research has shown it to have a regulatory effect on the immune system within the gut (and Crohn's is a disease of the immune system affecting the intestines).

We need some doctors in the UK who are willing to advocate and advise on the best ways to use MM. It seems that many American states are way ahead in terms of doctors who are willing to stand up and embrace the real health benefits of MM for chronic disease patients. I get the impression that British doctors would be to afraid of doing this.

It does reduce urgency, and long term use can actually regulate intestinal issues. The US Department of Health has a patent on cannabinoids and their role in inflammatory diseases such as Crohns and Colitis

Patent 6630507

Doctors in the UK also know this

Patent 6410588

If you are interested in MM, I highly suggest you read these patents.

Sativex (1:1 ratio of THC to CBD) is already available in the UK if you can get your doctor to prescribe it. Much more effective than Marinol. Sativex will be approved in the US sometime in 2013.

Heavy indica strains work best for me since they are more sedating/relaxing. CBD is a new thing, and some breeding groups (such as the CBD Crew or Resin Seeds) have developed strains with very high CBD levels. Cannatonic comes to mind, or anything that Shantibaba works with.

Really kind of you to reply.

I am very interested to learn that MM can regulate the gut and that at least some people have found that it does. Remicade can help me but is fantastically expensive and for me at least has side-effects. Anyway as I understand it the way Remicade works is to temporarily kill part of the immune system whilst, if I understand it correctly, MM actually restores it to something closer to natural healthy functioning?

Yes, you have it correct. cb1 and cb2 receptors in the gut can protect against damaging inflammation.

I can't reply much right now, but there is plenty of info in the links I posted :thumright: I can elaborate more tomorrow if you'd like.

Absolutely. I've been smoking for the past few days and cut the amt of times i go to the bathroom from about 6-7x to 2-3x a day.

Yes, well, now I have conducted my own experiments I have to agree with you. It is very significant in reducing visits to the bathroom (and at worst I was running there 12 times a day).
