Hi guys , I'm new to this forum I was just wondering if anyone can help me or that have had these sort of symptoms before with there Crohn's. Basiclly I woke up just over 2 weeks ago with a really dry mouth and a horrid taste in my mouth almost like metallic the best way I can describe it I didn't think anything of it but it hasn't seen to gone away.. it's worse everytime I have woken up from sleeping and tends to go when I have eaten but then comes again and is with me most of the day lately I have been getting a sweet taste in my mouth to at the top of my mouth.. I just find it really strange how it's all came about and wondered if anyone have had these symptoms so could relate
To me ? also getting a really dry mouth but drinking water doesn't seem to help much I have asked family members to smell my
Breath to see if it smells and they have all said no it's really weird and annoying now 😞

Hello Blakey
Welcome to the forum
Have you been diagnosed with Crohn's disease and if so what kind of medications have been prescribed
Some Meds can cause dry mouths
If you are not a crohns patient then are you taking medication for any reason
For these questions to be answered specifically you really need to talk to your doctor and have a proper health assessment.
There is a condition known as Sjögren's syndrome that is related to dry eyes, dry mouth etc
Some dental conditions may be a cause...there are numerous reasons for you to seek qualified medical advice.
You need qualified advice on your problems since it is unlikely to go away on its own.
We are all patients on the forum mostly IBD,Crohns and other intestinal inflammatory diseases
We are not doctors but people who share information
Feel better soon
Hugs

When I used to be on prednisone, it sometimes would cause a metallic taste but it didn't last all day.

Yes I have Crohn's disease and I have had it for 6 years nearlly and they said I haven't needed medication so haven't been on any in that time either so can't be that I have been to my dentist recently and my teeth are fine.

Is this a GI doctor? We have a section in here called Extra Intestinal Manifestations. You might want to post the same question there.

Have you seen your GI recently
It could be important to let them know of your symptoms since Sjögren's or dry mouth syndrome can be associated with Crohns.
It does call for an investigation by your doctor
There are retail products that may help like biotene mouthwash and toothpaste.,and I have used them.
