I was wondering if anyone here has received SSI due to CD? And periodically SS reviews patient to see if they are qualified to continue receiving it? Since it is incurable....what would make the government take away the SSI?

My wife is on SSI for other reasons. She was told she couldn't make over a certain amount or they would take the SSI away from her.

Good question. Far as I know as long as you don't make more than a certain amount (forget how much, like 20k a year??). I think if you get or had a felony it puts it in jeopardy, but not too clear on that either.
I'm not even sure *what* I'm on SSI for exactly. Maybe just because I had severe social anxiety since my teens and not even having anything to do with my Crohns? Huh.
In any case, if you can't work the doctors will give you a note, I should think. If not one doctor find another that has some sense. A GI doctor seems like the best bet since they understand the disease more.

My GI Dr told me he has never had a patient on disability- great way to have lost my disability through work. I am currently fighting that.

I'm on SSI/disability. Every once in awhile I'll get reviewed. I think it's just a check because people abuse the system. I have had many but they're never a problem.
