I was talking to a friend of mine who mentioned that taking bee propolis has helped a lady who has crohn's disease who goes to the same osteopathic doctor she sees. From what my friend said, the lady told her she was so bad with her disease that her doctors wanted her to do surgery. I guess she refused surgery and went to this osteopathic doctor and he put her on a special diet(juicing diet) and had her taking the propolis and she is better than she has ever been.

I was just wondering if anyone on here has ever taken this bee propolis extract and if so, does it help you???

I've never taken it before but one thing that stands out in your post was how she went on a juicing diet. Not only do members use juicing to try and get the most nutrients possible but it avoids solid foods which helps the bowel rest. Bowel/gut rest it a common treatment for severe Crohn's but I'm not aware of any studies showing it working forever. More of a short term treatment. Honestly I think that may be having a larger impact than the bee hive glue.

Yes i agree, juicing is a great way to get extremely vital nutrients in an easy form, and also it gives your bowels a rest. win-win situation lol. also cabbage juice is great.put it in a shot glass i close my eyes and nose when taking it though lol.

for bee propolis ive taken it but it was in an alcohol tincture and the alcohol i believe would upset my stomach. i do take manuka honey occasionally.

Thanks for the replies Crabby and Amien.

Yeah, I have heard that the whole juicing thing is very beneficial for getting in vitamins and such. I am seriously looking into doing a specialy diet. I just am not sure which one to go for. I am very sensitive as it is and cannot tolerate many different things due to my other health issues( i.e. my bladder, I cannot eat or drink anything that is too acidic and certain vegis especially tomatoes really upset my bladder and my gut). But I am looking also into that bone broth diet. I gotta get more info on it though.

I also take manuka honey as well. I actually got this bee propolis that is just the propolis and honey mixture. I also did not get the liquid one due to the alcohol as that would also cause me pain. I guess trying it wont hurt. I mean the bees must be on to something, this stuff supposedly makes thier hives sterile as it works as a strong antiseptic.

Thanks again for the replies. Hope you both are doing well.

Great I'm glad your exploring diet options. There are so many and so much conflicting information but I just take some from each to suit me and my stomach. Yes bone broths are extremely nourishing. The book by Sally from Weston price foundation (nourishing traditions) is great for that.

Yeah I do agree bees are quite a species that fascinate us. I'll definitely check out propolis without the alcohol. And I also tried royal jelly. I was on sooo many supplements and spent so much I'm not sure what worked and what didn't it drove me crazy so now I'm just taking essentials.

Hey Amien,

yeah I hear ya about spending tons on supplements. I could own my own vitamin shop with all the stuff I have bought over the years. Yeah, I am with you, I am trying to just keep it simple. Take only what I have to take....

I wonder if the gelatin in the bones contributes to the positives for bone broth? I've heard gelatin has healing properties. Anyone read up on that?

Can't believe I'm saying this but back in my abscess and fistula stage my wife smeared propolis into my wounds to try to help them heal. Certainly helped dry them up and close slightly, but they were fairly large wounds.
